Treasurer .................................. Portia Friedenbloom Vernon C. Shippee, Class Teacher The Class of '24 besides being the largest class to graduate from O. U. H. S. was one of the best. It's ranks were made up of many honor students and star athletes, in fact one might say it is the best class to leave this high school. Because this was an illustrious class, one might think they were always so. But when they entered the High School they were as much out of place as most freshmen are. In a few Weeks they had settled down to their studies. Ben jones was the class' choice for President and a good one he was. By this time the class had learned that all work and no play makes jack a dull boy so We held a class party on the campus. The party was in the form of a country fair and all came dressed as country lads and lassies. When the class came back, in September they were full fledged Sophomores. They had profited by their one year's experience and came back determired to do their best. One of the first things they did was to welcome the freshies and at the Freshman Reception the wee freshies were entertained. Northrop Ellis was the class president for that year. During the Junior year Cecil Cox was the class's leader and under his direc- tion the class made a name for itself. Clarence'l was given to help defray the expenses of the Junior-Senior Banquet. Q When September rolled around again the class returned to school. Having completed three laps of the race they resolved to make the last year the brightest year of all. Their athletes, debators, and actors did their best, and the school Won glory because of it. And so ends the history of the class of '24. page twelve
