Teresa Evans, Senior Flag Guardg Gwen Brannen, Senior Flag Bearerg Roni Lewan- dowski, Junior Flag Bearerg Debbie McCall, Junior Flag Guardg Beverly Williams Captain. Raider Color Guard Shoulders back, chest out, men ..... MEN??! The 1971 Color Guard squad for Raider Football Team added color and school spirit to the students at O.P.H.S. They marched on the field carrying the U.S. Flag and the school flag, leading the crowds to the prayer and the Na- tional Anthem. This short ceremony performed by the C.G. indeed added a sense of unity, starting the game off right. The five girls represented OPHS in Gainesville for their annual Gator Homecoming Parade, the G.C. Springs and St. Augustine Christmas Parades, and, of course, our own Homecoming Parade. They will be marching with the band in the Gasparilla State Fair in Tampa in February. Our Color Guard has been recognized as the only offi- cial high school C.G. in Northeast Florida! A lot of credit goes to Beverly Williams Bridge and her father for organizing the C.G. this summer. The uniforms the girls wore were different and original . . . a result of all the hard work Beverly put into them. O, say can you see . . . A serious moment. 167
