At the end of the year the library had circulated 4500 books to a student body of 299-an average of 15 books per student. The enrollment gradually expanded and also the circula- tion. The 1963-1964 school year showed an enrollment of 562 students with a circulation count of 14,332, an average of 25 books for each pupil. There Were nearly 750 students enrolled in 1966-1967, and the circulation count rose to 18,565 The library had acquired approximately 5000 volumes. The average circula- tion per student remains about the same. To date this yearls count exceeds that of last year by nearly 1000. The book count is around 5500. The magazine circulation is not counted. But a steady stream of magazines flow in and out each day. The library now subscribes to nearly 100 magazines. This year there is a collection of 50 LP classical records and a new record player with a set of 8 earphones. These records are also circulated and are becoming quite popular. Bob will always be a part of our memories. While working on the production Our Town, Bob was fatally injured on November 2. 4 Co Yellow and Green F rf Yellow Baby Rose M The time for departure has come, and we go our separate ways. Socrates Fifty years ago, in 1918, Orange High boasted a graduating class of ten members. Today Orange High School claims 102 seniors who far outrank the first ones. The Class of '68 has to face many problems and to solve the majority of them requires more than high school educa- tion. That is Why over half of our seniors are going on to college or some type of special train- ing school. We think our seniors have a lot to remember. Things such as Homecoming, football, basket- ball, wrestling, the spring sports, Prom and, most important of all, the Commencement and Baccalaureate exercises. They worked hard in various extracurricular activities and in Student Council to help make Orange better known and more active. But it wasn't all work, senior uPlaytime included picnics, parties, goofing off in study halls and other things which we shall discretely leave out. We wish Orange's graduating class the best of luck in everything they strive to achieve. In closing the 1968 Tiger Tales, I would like to say one last word to the student body, faculty, and to all who made this yearbook possible. The annual staff was small and inexperienced, but because of their long hours, hard work, and determination this group of students has made the 1968 Tiger Tales a great success. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as We enjoyed putting it together for you. I cannot express my gratitude enough for those who so diligently devoted their time and effort to put this book together. To Mike Ehlers and Mr. Whelchel for taking pictures, Mr. Miles for cooperating with us and helping set up picture taking schedules, all faculty and students who have either helped write copy or sell ads, Mrs. Cook, the adviser, who exercised patience with all of us. I would also like to express deep appreciation to all of our patrons and advertisers who without their help this yearbook would never have been possible. I hope We have captured the memories of the 1967-68 school year for all.
