Also she sud I received a letter from Den n1s Duckett He tells me he went down to sign with the Air Force but decided aga1nst it when he found out about no married men By this time they were flylng across the Atlant1c Ocean He wished they could land right in the middle and talk to Thad Bechtelheimer who had majored in Civil Engineering and was building a bridge across the Atlantic The plane landed in Mecca Saudla Arabia whereDean Cross has been st1t1oned for the last ten yeus a d is stlll K P After talk1ng to h1m Gene left the next day for Africa where he VISIIGCI George Schrxeber who 1S running the Slenderella Beauty Salon for the nat1ves After a free treatment he took off for Ch1na and got there about noon. T here rn hrs colorful uniform was Arlon Brenfang, head guardsman We watched the fascinating scene and then they were headed for F rance. The frrst thing they sighted was the Eifal Tower, and he knew they were Corning close to P ar rs 'Ihe plane skrdded to a stop and he hailed a taxi for the Rue De Ha Parx where I-xaroleSrlbaugh, with her cl rrrnet solo, was the featui e act of the ea erung After the per formance he talked with lxarole for a brief moment, but he had to hurry as he had to catch hrs one o clock plane for Spain Hrs plane landed rn an arrnort outside of Spun. Ile followed the crowd of peoplr to the large arena mhcre Willie Schempp the Matador was perfornunv Excrtedly awaiting the results w as el scnor Medrco Bob Brooks the famous surgeon whose score for patching up was three matador's and 300 bulls 'lhe fight was an exerting one, and he bonded the plane again this time for the sunny country ofr3r1.1rl to drop rn on karen and her husband Rrlty on their Coffee Bean Plantatron He w rs disappointed to find secr ttary Ile couldn't wart long so he took off this trme for the Panama C anal They found a place to land and asked directions to the locks WIICIC Sharon Olsen was working the mechanism Ht found her eating her lunch and after joining her, she showed him around After a delrghtful trip he boarded his plane, this time for Mexico He landed on 1 Mexican plateau and headed for the Peco s Chilli Carn Carnre Factory where Marie Dietrich worked He found Department 3, the Canning Department, and talked for just a few minutes, as she was workrno and rfthey talked too Iona SHLr'a1f1ht get C'illIlCJCl He took off avarn this trme back to the U S A He flew to California landed rn Beverlx Hrlls, and rang the doorbell at Mrss Avonell Berrsner s home. After enterrne he noticed the walls were papered with gum wr apoers as she rs head taster at Grfley Spearmrnt Gum Company He had dinner with Joyce Trmmer , who was working as an apple picker rn the daytime, and rn the Applesauee Factory at night They visited for only a few mrnutes as hrs time was running out and he had to get to Mrchrfran He landed and walked to Lake Michigan where Beverly Lake, World s Champion Swrmmer, had just swam Lake 'xirchrean to see her fiancee, who was stationed on the other srde He got her autograph and took off for 'xew York He landed rn time to see 1 rocket take off He learned later that rt was Sheila Woolsey She had just won the World's Talking Marathon and was now on her way to Mars to compete for the Universal Contest lie boarded his plane for the last time for hrs trip back to the crta of Waterloo He knew he would neu er forget this exciting journey, and the thrill of seeing hrs old elassm rtes again.
