EALIZING that the public school is the foundation of our country, these board members have spared no expense to provide the pupils in the Orange school district with the best possible teaching and learning experiences. LWAYS busy, scheduling and su ervising the nu- merous iunior and senior high school activities, is our principal and assistant superintendent, Mr.Black Planning and expediting school matters, guiding the lives of boys and girls, and lending a helping hand to everyone in need, makes students, teachers, and parents alike rely upon his iudgment and help. '-' 'Lf E ix: Superintendent Ballard Brady TUDYING financial reports, handling prob- lems connected with a building program, and coordinating all activities between school and community, are onlya few of the many duties wi ll- ingly performed by Mr. Brady, our Superintendent. Long after other members of the faculty have gone home, Mr. Brady can be found at his desk, ably taking care of the many administrative de- tails that are part ofa school administrator's life . H is expert iudgment and right decisions have earned him the respect of both school and community. HE daily school routine is efficiently handled by the secre- tarial staff. The beautiful evening made the ter- race a popular rendezvous during the inter- mission. The closing march atthe prom was only the beginning ofthe fun and frolic which was to Follow. Parties and picnics highlighted the prom weekend for all juniors and seniors. Girls and their dates were exhausted but happy as the weekend came to a close. HE National Thespian Society, is an honorary organization devoted to the advancement of dramatic arts in secondary schools. Under Mr. Bruce WiIson's guidance, Thespian Troupe i360 produced the junior and senior class plays. Not all Thespians are actors. Students who work on cos- tumes, props, lighting, scenery and an other crews are also eligible for mem- bershipand, in many cases, are able toearn the neces- sary points for membership much sooner than the stu- dentwhowants only to act. HE JUNIOR COUNCIL ON WORLD AFFAIRS has established itself through the year under the direction of Miss Edith Miller, to be- comea weII-known organi- zation. This training, which is very beneficial towards de- veloping office tech- niques and routine, makes the transition from school to career much smoother. HESE clinic attendants under the guidance of Miss Smith devote one period each day to serve in the clinic. Caring for students, making arrangements for those who are seriously ill to be taken home, and signing clinic posses keep each girl busy most of the time. Under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Wilson, the club meets every other week during the lunch period. Apparently this practice session contains some hu- morous remarks. HE Varsity O is composed of all boys who have received letters up- on participation in the school sports, basketball, football, golf, and track. The Lions owned victories over Wickliffe, Cleveland Heights Qi, Parma, and St.Joseph. The two losses were suffered at the hands of Parma and Willoughby. The Parma loss was the first dual loss for one of Coach Mario PiastrelIi's teams in two and one half years. Jim Gruden, Wayne Mitchell, Joe Ungvary, and Jack Schill were the lettermen on last year's squad that placed 6th in both the district and CLEVELAND NEWS Tournaments. Although over twenty teams participated in the tourney, 6th place was the lowest that Orange has ever finished.
