Turk, Coach Lozenoff, Show Them That Orange ls Here ONGRATULATIONS are in order for the Orange Lions who brought home our fifth football championship in the past six years. The Lions started the season on the right foot as they defeated Olmstead Falls 6 to 0 in the annual Round Robin. But the team's hopes for an undefeated season faded as they lost to Maple Heights 6-0 in an independent tilt. In another in- dependent game the following week, the Orangemen were again victims of defeat as they bowed to Brush 14-7. The boys, however, bounced right back as the team made their league debut by winning a thriller from Cuyahoga Heights 13- 12. On October 9, they tripped Solon 25-6. Travel- ing to Independence the following Friday, the fellas racked up 40 points against 6 points for an inexperienced Independence squad. Orange gained its first shutout of the season trouncing Brecksville 30-0. Ex- citement reached its peak on the night of October 30, as the Lions dumped a strongly favored Chagrin team by a score of 13-0. Scenting an untied championship, the Lions went on to finish the season by defeating May- field 19-13 in what was said to be our tough- est game of the year. There were 39 stars on the team this year, each one playing his best game--ev- ery game- -whether it was played from the bench or on the playing field. Good sports- manship, teamwork and the will to win made our Lions champs.
