We op omores by JOAN SCOII Freshman Year I' arlv in September of 1950 the class of 1954 was initiated We were a bit worried and still more curious for we had heard of the strange doings of our upper classmen After we had scrubbed the gymnasium floor with toothbrushes and had attempted to dance a ballet we were accepted as Freshmen Our class oflicers were President Robert Rock vice president Georg1annaNunnallv treasurer Richard Johnson and secretarv Myrtle Harper We elected as representatives to the Btudent Council Marilyn Duval Peter Phillips and Beverlv Brown The ne xt event was the one act plav contest We astonished our experienced upper classmen bv winning first pr17e' The plav was entitled Wilbur Faces Life directed bv Mr I4 arle Moody Our class marshal at Baccalaureate was Ernest Atherton We hated to have our freshman year end but we con oled ourselves with the thought that ne xt year we d be sophomores not lowly freshmen' Sophomore Year In the fall of 1951 we entered Orange High qchool as sophomores. We elected as class officers: President John McCoy' vice-president Beverly Brown' treats irer Roger Bergquist and secretary Myrtle Harper. O ir qtudent Council members were: Beverly Brown Margaret Eames qhirley Marion Pamela Phillips and Barbara Risatti. In October we presented our second one-act play The Blue Tea Pot under the di- re ction of Mr. Farle Moody. Again we surprised everyone by winning first privel In football basketball and baseball the sophomore class was well represented. 'lhe names of the players are too numerous to mention here but the J. V. teams were comprised chiefly of sophomores. In the Minstrel, two in our class were end men, Ernest Lambert and Glendon Gale. The Sophomore Prom was held on May 2. Being freshmen and sophomores is fun, but we just can't wait to be J uniors'

1 u ,x 1 ,f.f -' fx We Juniors t i iiw i' ii A icy' 3 ' A by ANN MARTINELLI In September of 1949, we were initiated into Orange High School with the amazing Freshman Welcome Day which vs as held in the form of a Sadie Hawkins race. The officers elected for our freshman year were: President, Herbert Eames, vice-presi- dent, Frances May, treasurer, Alfred Vorceg secretary, Beverly Belloli. Our first one-act play, Come Out of It , was directed by Miss Frances Morse. The three representatives on the Student Council were Carolyn Bassow, Shirley J ewett and Ann Martinelli. We were proud to have David Grigalunas as an endman in the annual Minstrel. Alfred Blazejewski was class marshal in June, thus our freshman year ended. In our sophomore year we elected the following ofiicers: President, Robert W hitakerg vice-president, Dorothy Creegan 3 treasurer, Kenneth Reed, and secretary, Phyllis Hall. That year our one-act play contribution was One Happy Family , which was directed by Miss Joanne LeVangie. Student Council members were Beverly Belloli, Frances May, Shirley Jewett, Ann Martinelli and David Grigalunas. The Sophomore Prom our very first oneewas held on April 27. Philip Nelson was our class marshal in June. This past fall we returned as upper-classmenee juniors. Our officers this year are' President, Richard Small, vice-president, Ann Martinellig treasurer, Philip Nelson and sec- retary, Shirley Jewett. Student Council representatives are Ann Dubovik, Shirley Jewett, Dorothy Creegan, Ann Martinelli, Kenneth Reed and Alfred Vorce. Our one-act play, Sis of the Ozarks , was ably directed by Miss LeVangie. Many class members took part in this y'ear's Minstrel as well as in other school events. As this year draws to a close, we are looking forward to our senior year with all its ex- citement the class trip, play, senior prom and graduation.

We FFCS H1611 F ' by ANNE PARMENTER The main event of this year was our official initiation at Orange High School the Freshman Welcome presented by the Seniors. For our class officers we elected: James Guetti, president, Anne Parmenter, vice-presi- dent, Raymond Smith, treasurer, and Joanne Scott, secretary. I In the Student Council, Joanne Housen, Deanna Ward and Sally Wheeler represent the C HSS. In October, our Freshman play, Not Quite Such a Goose , was directed by Mr. Leslie Anderson. After hearing of the need of repairs at the town hall, the Freshman civics classes, under the direction of Mr. Leslie Anderson, went to work. We can feel that we have helped our town in a small way. W Our Freshman year is over and we now look ahead to our Sophomore year. .gf ge
