The play, with its large cast and many assistants, turned out 3 to be quite a successful venture. 0 Q Eleanor1Rieg'was chosen tofrepresent us'at the Good Government Day in Boston. Q 3 The D. A. R. We Seniors 0 0 0 O Q 9 2 We, the class of 1952, embarked upon our glorious career as members of the student body of Orange High School in the month of September, in the year 1949. Our first great achievement was accomplished by pulling the Sophomore class through Q the Ranch pond at the annual rope-pull. z 9 We were formally accepted into the student body at the Freshman Welcome, for 5 which we all held a grave fear. But it was not so bad as we expected, and everyone had a 3 grand time. 9 Our class officers for the year were president, Arthur Martinelli 3 vice-president, Nancy 9 Colo, secretary, Imogene Wallace, treasurer, Joseph Colo. We were represented in the Student Council by Jean Graves, Imogene Wallace, and Q 0 David Murchie. - 0 When the one-act play contest rolled around, we put up a stiff fight for .first place. We 3 were defeated by the seniors, however, and came in second. 0 The freshmen proved their ability when Gene Ward was elected to represent the school Q at Good Government Day in Boston, and Russell J uif was chosen as an end man for the an- : nual minstrel show. z 3 We completed our first year in high school by electing Gene Ward as our class marshal. Q In the following September we returned to school, and with Mr. Hammond as our 0 advisor, we elected our officers. They were: President, Richard Shaw 3 vice-president, Eliza- z beth Ferguson, secretary, Jane Nelson, treasurer, Arthur Martinelli. 9 That year we chose as our Student Council representatives, Dorothy1Nicewicz, Jane 2 Nelson, David Murchie, Lawrence Horrigan and Gene Ward. z We became the winner of the annual rope pull, as we had in the previous year. 3 Arthur Martinelli was chosen as the representative from O. We also conducted a food sale and a paper drive. Q 5 The minstrel show had many senior participants. There were three senior end men, . Q . . . Q Q Russell J uif, Leopauld Letourneau and Peter Hebert. Walter Wrigley served as mterlocu- Q Q tor, and many of the seniors appeared in specialties and in the chorus. 5 The seniors left on April 12 to spend their much anticipated week in New York and z Washington. They returned on Saturday, April 19 after a very exciting and enjoyable trip. 3 f The senior prom was held in June and will always be remembered as the final social af- air of our high school days. o . 0 Q Soon the week was upon us when we were to complete our high school days. 9 0 Baccalaureate service was observed Sunday evening, June 15, followed by Class Day z on Wednesday 0 Graduation came on Thursday, June 19. We had completed our four years in high 4 . . . . Q school and, with mixed feelings of Joy and sadness, separated from our classmates to go our 5.
