Richard Swan President Nancy Bluzxey Vice-President Margaret Rossi Secretary Donald Gilmore Treasurer 636155 of iogpg Supporting Clast The Supporting Cast is a Very well-liked group and is standing up well under the strain ofwatching preparations for the Seniors' graduation. These young people pitch into all school activities with a vigor that we thought had vanished with the Indians. After demonstrating their business ability in the successful management of the one-act play contest, they elimaxed the fall term with an enjoyable Christmas Prom. XYe now look into a Student Council meeting, which is held once il Week ii room lo, anal arc welcomed with open arms. The group is discussing th subject of a dance to he sponsored hy the Sophomore class. This organization, composed of representatives from each class, works fo the well-are of the school. :Xmong its many activities are those of tlirectin traffic, ushering at assemblies, arranging for assembly programs, and th solving of many routine matters concerning the school's activities. ibtuzca Qlzcfissfzu CUZL! BCUZL VVe now go on to the musical part of the program. Much credit should be giyen to Malcolm Hall for the success of our music department. Nlr. Hall directs the various musical activities with an understanding of each of his protege's problems. In perfect rhythm the band comes marching down the street. Indeed, we have a band which compares very favorably with those of many larger communities. A burst of .iive greets us. We find the band in full swing with plenty of pep and jep to the hot licks. With a Krupa-like burst ofnoise the trap drums beat out the perfect rhythm which sets us all to dancing, myself clasping the camera around the middle, and my assistant waltzing the Searchlight around the room. The spell is broken as the band suddenly stops without a variation of a 64th note. gli.. cm: ssl Dozens of fresh young voices break out anew with ageless melodies. NVe sink into a chair, spellbound with emotion. The soprano voices lilt among the higher octaves like fingers of sunlight playing around soft spring rosebuds. The alto voices murmur like the song of a babbling brook combining with the sopranos in such a manner as to create a delicate illusion of fairies' songs. Then, we go on with our work with such memories as these to help make life more pleasant. Dzcfiasfza This select group of musicians certainly does contribute to the school affairs. No matter what the entertainment, the orchestra is always right there: one act plays, the senior play, the musicale, graduation, and for other types of programs that come to the high school. Grabbing our camera we follow, and there find everyone at work. The thud of a ball in a catcher's mitt, the crack of a baseball bat upon a pop fly, faint shouts, good humored bantering that passes between members of the team, and the sharp staccato commands of the coachg all go to make up the scenes that meet our eves. As we watch these boys at practice, we can scarcely wait for the shoutiof the umpire, Play ball!
