It is a club that is vi- tally interested in the news of today. It enables the student to develop a more diversified outlook on contemporary happenings in the World through discussions, guest lectures. and panel discussions. Orange County Connnunity Colleges Internation- al Relations Clulm is a rneinher of a nationwide In- ternational Relations Organization and a partici pator in a National Model United Nations. In re cent years O.C.C.C. has represented South Africa, Canada, and the Maldive Islands. They have also attended a China Conference sponsored by Harvard. This year the clulm has sponsored a fast for U.N.I.C.E.F. Some of its more general functions are the sponsoring of various information services. The clulm hoasts of a growing and more interested lneinhership. It is a ineinlmer of a widespread stu- dent clulv and participates in worthwhile and en- joyalvle conventions. YOUNG REPUBLICANS CLUB The Young Republican Club at Orange County Community College, founded in October 1967, is a part of the Young Republicans of New York State. This organization has a chapter on most of the college campuses of the state, and works di- rectly through the State Republican Party. The Young Republicans at O.C.C.C. are a special in- terest group, although membership is unlimited all are welcome to join. The feel that it is important to encourage young men and women to get into the political field, and that the Republican Party offers to America its best chance for ad- vancement in the future. The 'KY.Rls offers to those students who seek a political career, a chance to express themselves and have their views become known, while at the same time, introduc- ing these students to the workings of the business of politics. The Young Republicans sponsored the first annual c'Miss O.C.C.C.,' contest, held during February 1968, and also actively participated in the Presi- dential Primary election held during April 1968.
