will The Agassiz Society Advisors, Dr. VVood, Mr. Alford, Mr. Borkog Cindy VVheel- U.. kfzxwzifz- , si THE ACASSIZ SOCIETY The Agassiz Society was named after Louis Ag- assiz, one of the greatest American naturalists and teachers. The main purpose of the club is to pro- mote a greater understanding of the world about us through study of nature-not books. Members and faculty discuss various aspects of the biologi- cal science according to their personal interest. Throughout the year, many very interesting speeches are presented for discussion and interest by all. The club also takes many trips to places of inter- est at which the advisor in that particular field help increase the students' awareness and know- ledge of biology. Some places visited this year were the Botanical Cardens, Bronx Zoo and the American Museum of Natural History, all located in New York City and a geology adventure to Albany. er, President. The Agassiz Society sponsors the popular, infor- mative Audubon Film Series and Lecture. Speak- ers provided by the National Audubon Association present colored films they have taken and provide a commentary, also. This fund raising project is re- warding to not only students but to the entire community as well. This year's club has had a very active membership following its oflicers: Cindy YVheeler, President, jerry Kroger, Vice President, Karen Peachy, Sec- retary, and Sam Zylstra, Treasurer. The advisors have been the entire biological faculty of this campus. Although the main emphasis of this club is the biological sciences, the club and all its activities is open to anyone. The club is enjoyed by all mem- bers and we hope to see more students from other fields in the Agassiz Society next year.

The Colt's offense was av- eraging better than 79.1 points a game while the defense was allowing opposition only 75.6 points a game. Leading the Colt's were Co-Captains Char- lie Chambers and Nlike Cusato as they both aver- aged better than lT points a game. Chambers was the leading assist man on the club while Cusato was the Colts big rebounder. Other top scorers for the Colts were Timmy Burns and Bill Doekstader as they both averaged 10 points a game. The close of the season also brought to a close the OCCC careers of Charlie Chambers, Mike Cusato, Larry Hait, Tim Burns, Brian Ingber and Roger Carroll. 1-' 1 Y , ' W' Y v v ' A A A A A A A A .. .Q ....
