The team was invited to the regional soccer plavofl' where they lost a 54 decision to defending 'Xa- tional Champion Nassau C.C. Under the guidance of Coach James Nligli. the Colts played superh soccer. The Orangemen opened with three very impressive victories and were only four minutes away from upsetting the Nassau team in a disputed contest. As the season went on. the Colts came up against teams that were a little too tough for a cluh so heset hy inju- ries as was the OCCC squad. In the biggest hearthreaker of the year, the Colts were upset by a visiting Sullivan County squad. The traditional OCCC-SCCC game drew the largest crowd in Or- ange County history as almost 2.000 spectators watched the contest. Leading the Colt squad were Co-Captains Mike Dollend and john Zuclich. Some of the stand-outs of the team were honored for their fine play. Goalie George Graham was selected for All-American Goalie tHonorahle Mentionj and OCCC's 'tFlying Frenchman Guy Cassarini was awarded the most outstanding player in the Midflludson Conference. Cassarini also won the scoring race and was named to the first string All-Conference team. Other Colts making the Erst team were: George Graham, Nlike Magee. and Ralph Hoover. Those players accorded second team honors were Danny Castelluzzi, Mike Van Auker, and john Zuclich. In all, the whole squad, even though often seriously injured, gave OCCC a good showing and really made thc Orange County Community College proud of them.
