John 5:39, As the graduating class of 1955 leaves the Open Bible College, we have chosen the name of BEREANS -SCRIPTURE SEARCHERS, Who were the BEREANS and why were they called Sc rip- ture Searchers? They were the first group of people, who, after hearing the gospel, sat down in a body and with the help of the Holy Spirit studied the Holy Writ to see if this new gos- pel be true. As Paul taught them through his mighty sermons they compared his preaching with the Word of God. This must have been the Old Testament for the New Testament was not yet in existence. They listened to the sermons, proved them by the Scriptures and thus came to believe what they heard. J. Glentworth Butler refers to them as being noble men and women because of their constant searching of the Scriptures. From the time of those BEREANS until today, we have had Scripture Searchers. The class of '55 have for the past three years been BEREANS, we have searched the Scriptures and found them to be true. As we leave we are going forth to inspire others to become Scripture Searchers too. Gloria Hall 12

ROXANE BERGGREN leaves her knowledge of Greek to Bro. Fulton! DOROTHEA CAMPBELL wills her hearty laugh to Sharon Pfaden- hauer who only giggles! HARRIET CASHMAN wills her quietness to Bob Thomas. We are sure the teachers will appreciate this! GLORIA HALL wills her ability to drive carefully to Mrs. Archer! ETHEL HEBBERT wills her ability to cook to all the brides-to-be. We hope all you grooms like soup! DWIGHT HUNNELL needs all the ability he has - but to any future song leader he leaves his one specialty - leading the chorus to the tune of On Top of Old Smoky. JANET OSTENDORF wills her ability to fit into small places to Don Krantz! M, L, REEVES wills to Bro. Archer the present he received in the Christmas grab bag - a package of combs! DEAN SCHAGER wills his ability to unknowingly sit through the wrong class to Jim Groen! ROBERT SMOLDT leaves all the underclassmen a half of a beef, a gift from the packing plant to him as he leaves their employment to go into the Lord's work. HOWARD STONE leaves his ability to get a three year diploma in two years to anyone willing to give it a try! RALPH WATTS wills his expressions of wit to Quentin Quiner - such as the time Bro. Bechtel asked, What is General Electric's Slogan? and Ralph replied, Don't be a bulb-snatcher! 13
