mem- ' ' A light shining in a dark place. ll Pet. l:l9 There are many lights in this world, but only one true light, the love ot Iesus Christ. As insects are lured to their death by bright lights, so Satan has his lures: the dancing lights of amusement, the flame of ambition, the sparkle of society. These only plunge humanity into the darkness ot eternal night. . As Torch Bearers you have the privilege ot radiating the glorious Light that lights the path to the eternal day. Hold it high! Let it be seen! May the Torch Bearers of '45 be faithful unto the end of the race. Walk in wisdom towards those that are with- out, Redeeming the Time. Col. 4:5. Time is the sacred trust God has placed in our hands. Time is all too fleeting and life too short tor a child ot God to waste and squander in his own interests. ' The peril of the unsaved is so great, and the command of Christ so urgent that workers can never be idle. Make every moment of every day count for Christ. Throughout the ages you will reap the reward of His commendation, Well done, if one important rule oi your life has been- tor His sake to redeem the time. y For we are made partakers of Christ, it we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end. Hold your torches high, and be not ashamed of the gospel of Iesus Christ. No weoqpon that is formed against thee shall' prosper. Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it. God has prepared a place for each of you, and smiles upon each forward step. Occupy till He comes, in everything give thanks, and be confident that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Mr

Torch Bearersl The name bespealcs a challenge. There rests upon you the obligation of meeting its responsibili- ties. Iesus said, Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good Works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Your responsi- bility is fourfold. Let your light shine. The light is the important part of your ministry. lt is your consecrated service that men must see. Carry the light, Torch Bearersf' The transfiguration glory Was on the mountain top, but needy men were in the valleyg the light had to be carried to them. Carry it visibly: that others may see. Men do not light a candle and place it under a bushel but on a Candlestick. Carry it unselfishly that men might glorify your Father. The light must be seen, not the Torch Bearer. Be yours to hold it high. ! 4 0. B. I. Greetings, Torch Bearersf' The World is full of Burden-bearers, but it does not have many who will carry a lighted torch in the midst of dark- ness. Abraham was a torch bearer in a hostile land and they mocked him. Iohn the Baptist Was a torch bearer in an apostate age and they beheaded him. Iesus was a torch bearer and His own rejected I-lim. You may be rejected and made fun ot, but may your light never be extinguished. May you lighten dark corners of this World with the Message God has given to you. May you Worm cold hearts with the zeal oi youth, and may you penetrate the abysmal dark- ness of modern sin with the torch of truth which God has' given to you. Don't stop. Let your path be ever on-A Ward, Torch Bearers of l945. .
