The O.H.S. Band continued this year to bring more recognition and awards to Ooltewah High School. The Band had a very contem- porary marching show, but one that received many compliments and praise for its originality. The show was designed around the col- orguard, and they didn't let the band down by winning Superior Ratings and a Best in Class Trophy. Charisma Jackson also did an outstanding job as Drum Majorette. Charisma, who had some big shoes to fill due to Jim Bartoo's graduation, continued the tradition of outstanding Drum Majors at Ooltewah by receiving Superior ratings at the Band Festivals. The band continued its fine perfor- mances this year in Concert Band. The Concert Band performed three concerts at the Carols by Candlelight program presented by the Music Department. Finally, Concert Festival time had arrived and the Band continued its Superior tradition by receiving a superior rating at the Brainerd Invitational Concert Band Festival. BAND DIRECTOR: JOEL DENTON

MAJORETTES KIM ALLEN The O.H.S. majorettes had another outstanding year. They received Superior Ratings at all the Band Competitions. Winning Best in Classn at the Atlantic States Marching Band Contest was just one of the many exciting things that happened to our ma- jorettes. We would like to thank Kim Allen for doing such a great job for the past four years. Kim served as head majorette and featured twirler for the past three years. A welcome addition to the majorette line this year was Kim Faulkner. Kim, who also did a great job, is just a freshmang so we look for more great things from her for the next three years.
