X B tis. l , , 5 I i Manager: Scott McArthur l Mr. Joel Denton - Band Director The Band had another great year in '83-'84, They competed in three Marching Band Contests finishing in second place twice. They also competed in the ETSBOA State Concert Band Festival and received a superior rating in sight reading. This rating is represented by a state plaque, the first in Ooltewah's history. The Band also received a Superior rating at the Brainerd Invitational Concert Band Festival. The Band was invited to attend the Festival of Champions in Panama City, Florida. They performed excellently at the festival. It was the first national festival the Band has attended. We would like to express our deep appreciation to this year's Seniors during the last three years, their hard work and leadership have helped the Band win over 50 trophies and awards. Jim has served as Drum Major for three years. During this time, he has con- sistently received superior ratings and Best Drum Major Awards. He has been an exam- ple for all Band Members to follow.
