JEAN BROOKS. All students at OHS know Mrs. Brooks and have come to love and admire her for her friendship she extends to all. Not only is she the hookkeeper of our school faffec- tionately known as Mrs. Moneybagswj, but she runs the bookstore efficiently as well. Students view her as a friend, a confidante and a mender of broken hearts. She is a wonderful mainstay at OHS, one that will he so hard to replace. Tuxes were rented, making sure the trim on the shirt matched their date's dress. Prom dresses in every color imaginable swirled across the Imperial Ballroom at the Choo-Choo to the tunes played by Young and Pretty, an excellent band to accompany a very special event. Scott Bevil and Angie Eldridge, sweethearts, were crowned Prom King and Queen. 'ii'i if ,, I Everyone left with a brandy glass commemorating perhaps the last prom many will ever attend. She played on the varsity volleyball team and ran track. She did very well in track, but had to miss the Regional meet because she went to New York for a week. All the students at OHS wish the very best for Birgitta when she returns to Sweden to her old school. We'll miss her and hope that she continues to do as well as she did here. She was not only inducted into the Beta Club, but also the National Honor Society. Birgitta says that OHS is very different from her school in Sweden W she's not used to all the sport activities and the pep rallies. But she did say that she has enjoyed being at OHS this year and plans to come back to the United States very soon. We love you, Birgitta. Always remember the stay at Ooltewah High School and never forget your friends! Dear Friends, lid like to thank you for your friendship and your help and to let you all know how wonderful this experience here at OHS has been for me. At the very beginning, during the first weeks of school, I was so confused because everything is so different from my school in Italyl But then, with the friendly and warm help of the teachers, and all the students, everything went all right and I felt very comfortable. The school here, in America, is very different from the kind of school we have in Italy. In American schools, beside the time you spend studying, you have also time for recreation, for sports, for a variety of different activities, all things that, in my opinion, make your type of school the ideal one. OHS seems to me more like a big family rather than a school, where everybody knows each other and the teachers are so caring and so much involved with the students in sports, clubs., and different activities. This relationship seems more like a kind of partnership. I learned a lot of new and interesting things from all my classes and I found students and teachers really friendly, helpful and very, very nice. This experience as an exchange student has been a wonderful one. It is something that I will always have with me, through my whole life. I wonit ever forget OHS and all of you. Through the cold, the rain, the snow, these girls were always there cheering all our teams to victory. And when we didn't have a win, these girls never let up yelling - proving to the community and the school that they are really concerned and dedicated about their spirit. Many thanks for a super job!
