The purpose of a school yearbook is to record some of the highlights of the school year. It is a lot of fun for students who actually do the work of assembling the material and putting the book together. The incidents, events and pictures that appear in the book, however, take on added meaning and significance for all of us as time goes by. The 1982-83 school year will be remembered as Oklahoma Year of the Schools. A time when students and staff participated in many activities aimed at improving communication between school and the community so the public will become better acquainted with the positive happenings at school. Best wishes to the graduating seniors you will be missed. Winnie Clouse Jean Bolch Receptionist Treasurer 3

The students and community are very fortunate to be a part of a school system, that provides the excellent educational opportunities, that are provided by the Oologah Schools. In addition, we enjoy the best facilities, in which you can enjoy your educational experiences. We should all be thankful. As we near the completion of our construction projects, we can look at our school with a great deal of pride. This pride comes not only from having beautiful facilities but also from the quality education that is offered at Oologah-Talala School System. I would like to thank all patrons, students and school employees who work together to make our school system a success. If a good beginning is an indication of a successful school year, this year should be one of the best at Oologah. Opportunities for success are more available at Oologah than in most schools in the state and the students have been most cooperative in working with their teachers and administrators. The senior class is providing good leadership. The teaching staff is highly qualified and concerned. The secretaries, the mainten- ance department, the cafeteria workers, the mechanics and the custodians are all outstanding people who are performing vital tasks so important to the success of a school. It takes the working together of all these forces to provide the best possible for our students. From all appearances this is “the year we can remember for its joy and success.
