The 1969 MUSTANG STAFF proudly dedicate this vol- ume to you-“THE OOLOGAH ALUMNI.” BOARD OF EDUCATION Education is on the march in every cor- ner. It engages the full attention of one- fourth of the population of our country. As enrollment soars and space is badly needed, the Board of Education is constantly called upon to meet the demands of a dy- namic student body. They are constantly at work-planning for another well-equipped building to provide and improve educational techniques for the students of this commu- nity. THE GREAT THINKERS OF OUR TIMES ARE THINKING DEEP THOUGHTS SEEKING SOLUTIONS TO OUR PROBLEMS; YET WE DO NOT SEEK TRUTH GIVEN TO US BY THE GREATEST OF ALL TEACHERS: “TO SERVE OTHERS IN LOVE, WITH RESPECT FOR THEM AS INDIVID- UALS, TO THE END THAT THEY MIGHT BE HAPPY AND ACHIEVE THEIR FULL DIGNITY IS TO HONOR GOD.” THIS THEN, IS MAN’S GREATEST PRIVILEGE AND RESPON- SIBILITY. TIME AND CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE THAT MAN CANNOT SETTLE FOR LESS. QUALIFIED LEADERS Since no formal message ever says all that is worth saying, let me crowd in a few thoughts about our school. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the student body and staff. We have made giant strides in the world of education. I have a tremendous respect for our school and for what it stands for. Let us always remember that dedication and hard work will accomplish true greatness. Yours in Education, CHARLES FLINT Grade School Principal MRS. JEAN BOLCH, school secretary, chats for a moment with assistant secretary, MRS. ANGELA FRY before they begin the day’s work that keep the office running smoothly. DYNAMIC ADMINISTRATION THE LIVELY PACE OF OOLOGAH SCHOOL is set by the Administration and Faculty. Led by Superintendent MR. C. O. TILLMAN and assisted by MR. DON CAMPO, High School Principal, and MR. CHARLES FLINT, Grade School Principal, they oversee the mushrooming growth and channel the interests of all students in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. While solving the problems that perplex our growing so- ciety, the administration look to the future and the never- ending duties, as well as toward bettering the learning pro- gress. To the faculty, learning is the factor to be stressed and students spend the majority of their time in the classroom or library. They scurry from class to class, sometimes studying on the way. Learning continues and the Oologah faculty con- tinue teaching, preparing and guiding. Enjoying their work in the music department MR. CHARLES GARNER, Band Director, listens to MRS. BILLIE BROWN, crafts, figure drawing, and painting are offered in the field of art. She also teaches Spanish. The end of a busy day brings a moment’s relaxation for MRS. DOROTHY HALE, librarian. Few schools can boast a more respectable history in physical training and competitive sports. Oologah today maintains a long and honorable tradition of both boy’s and girl’s physical education and can boast of one of the best in the state. MR. JOHN MERRYMAN-Assistant Football Coach and MR.
