The Mustang Staff, 1967 BOARD OF EDUCATION This group of men have as their aim the shaping of an academic program that is second to none for the youth of this community. The fulfillment of these dreams are continually in the front of their minds as they give endlessly of their time and efforts everyday. FOREWORD The years of the past are like a chain----each year represented by a link. We hope this book will be a symbol of a continuous bond which links us together in a golden friendship that will continue to grow link by link as the years go by. The Mustang Staff 1967 A gala homecoming... the queen conornations. . .an autumn football game . . . long hours of study. . . mid- night cramming for exams ... a good friend ... a new love ... a pep assem- bly... these things make up the im- ages of our school life. It has been a wonderful year. Stu- dents rejoiced together at victories, suffered together at lost games. Some entered the year as seniors, ready to go on to higher learning, others to take their places as respon- sible citizens, still others to be seen again next year in these halls. None like this year has ever existed; none ever will again. This image is ever- changing. Curriculum, social activities, sports, personalities--these are the substance of school life, all separate and distinct, yet all endlessly fused together. The following pages are your path- way through which you see Oologah School--1966-67. T o the Student Body: My sincere appreciation is extended to the fine student body of Oologah Public School. Youare outstanding inclass workand also extra-curricular activities. The faculty, as well as, I certainly appreciate the fine sports- manship you display at athletic events. Your manner of dress at school and school functions is in good taste which shows high moral and char- acter standards. The interest you have shown in our band is reflected in its size and progress. Additional uniforms for next year have been ordered to attire a 65-piece band. We hope to increase this number to 85 members in the near future. The 1,368 book reports turned in the first semester by grades 3 through 6 overwhelms me. These grade students also presented the Christmas and Easter operettas that made us very proud of them. I know you students are very proud of the Board of Education for providing the excellent facilities, faculty and the fine curriculum that is being offered in our school system. You demonstrated this at the County fair in Art, Home Economics, 4-H and other events. We are striving to give you the type of education that will enable you to attend a college or university. May I encourage each of you to start making preparations today to attend college after you have graduated from high school. The school will furnish assistance to any student in securing educational loans, scholar- ships or jobs to help further your education. I am very proud of you and please feel free to call on me at any time.
