Text from Pages 1 - 96 of the 1966 volume:

The Mustang Within these pages, we of the yearbook staff have tried to depict high- lights of the year. While it is appreciated now, the greatest satisfaction will come in future years. Then you will look through its pages and recall the events and friends of today. We hope you enjoy your Mustang as much as we have enjoyed preparing it for you. The Mustang Staff Left to right; Carol Perkins, Carrol Cowherd, Harolene Boyd, Priscilla Worden, Advisor, Alice Cartwright, Leojauna Johnston, Kenny Wickham, and Frances Peace. Peace efforts have reached young and old alike. These efforts are not made by mil- itary forces alone but also by donations of foods to meet the demands of less fortunate. This book is dedicated to the cause of freedom for which our boys are fighting. NON'A? 0«V MIIK °°HAreo 8 Left to Right: Melton Henderson Joe Sweeney Chester Penner Murrel Cowherd Forest Corlett Board of Education The School Board is composed of citizens who give unselfishly of their time and devotion for the advancement of education. The Board strives to continue to supply adequate school facilities for an increasing school population. They review, and if necessary revise, the school curriculum that it may serve the needs of the community and of the nation. The main project of this year’s School Board is the building of a football stadium and a complete football program. At the left is a stadium that is similar to the one now under construction on our school grounds. Under the grandstands the enclosed area will house the concession stand, dressing rooms, and storage space. The press box will be located in the elevated area as shown. The home bleachers will seat 1232, and the visiting bleachers, 500 people. The contract has been let to Southern Bleachers Construction Company of Graham, Texas. The picture at the right shows a portion of the dressing room that is housed in the enclosure under the bleachers. The lower grades are where children learn to speak properly. Purposely, a new system of speech is di- rected at this level super- vised by Miss Davenport. Special Tests show that some students, though in HighSchool, cannot read. This is the effort of our newly devised remedial reading program headed by Mr. McCuistion. i Members of the highway patrol aid in Dri- vers Education by administering eye and written tests.
