Class History The class of 1957 entered the halls of OHS in 1953, as 96 Green Freshmen from four different schools. It took only a short time to get acquaintedg then they were ready for their high school days. Patty Duncan and John Spaulding represented the class in the Regional Algebra Contest in which Patty took first place. Sue Darcus was elected cheer-leader. There were two enioyable par- ties this year with Mrs. Knight as class sponsor. As Sophomores a few of the class dropped out reducing the total to 84 students Janice Smith was Basketball Queen Attendant and Sue Darcus and Patty Duncan were yell leaders Bonnie Jo Smith was the sponsor this year The best year of all was the Junior year Although many more students had fallen by the wayside there were still 71 members Concessions were sold at the ballgames and a play was presented The arrival of class rings put the final stamp on the class as being upper classmen Patty Duncan and Sue Darcus were again elected yell leaders and Marilyn Jones was Basketball Queen Attendant The biggest event of all as is true of every Junior class was the planning decorating for and attending the Junior Senior Prom Mrs Duncan and Mrs Speer as class spon sors supervised the Prom and two parties for the class during the year Now the final year at OHS brought the class fwhich now numbered only 57 out of the original 961 to the realization that school days were almost over and that they would soon take a place in the adult world So they ettled down to hard work and produced this 1957 Limestone recording all the honors and outstanding achievements reached during the Senior year Sharon McPike Ruth Sears John Spaulding OUTSTANDING SENIORS 'G Sue Darcus Patty Duncan County DAR Winner David Steele Girls State Stanley Neil Ctopj Boys State Boys State 1? , .
