VARSITY BASEBALL The 1965 Varsity Baseball Team continued the uphill climb started three years earlier by winning seven of eighteen games. While not a winning record, this represented steady progress when compared with five wins in 1964, the two wins in 1963 and one win in 1962. For the most part, the team played daring, exciting baseball led by Seniors John Phalen, Mike Gallagher, Gary Holgate and Hugh Spoljaric. Close games were the rule rather than the excep- tion, and high hopes are held for a winning team in 19o6.

GIRL ' S SPORTS The 1965-66 Girl ' s Athletic Association, G.A.A. , has been awarded many UCAL championships. During spring, track and Softball create much enthusiasm among the participants. A predominant spirit of will- ingness to help one another to achieve an even greater perforn. nce is found in girls sports. The track and field ' Varsity Sportsday, held at Rondout ' Valley Central during ' 65, proved to be a blue ribbon day for the energetic OCS girls. Onteora placed first in Sportsday over Pine Bush and Rondout Valley. A Softball sportsday was held at Marlboro Central. Again it was an ex-citing day for OCS; we placed second in the competition over six other schools in Ulster County. Gert Spoljaric had a pitching record of 4 wins in 6 games. Captain Pat Sul- livan maintained high spirits on the team. The spirit and enthusiasm ex- pressed in these sports typify G.A.A. ' s activity. Much credit is due Miss Carol O Koren, coach, for her help to make girls ' sports at OCS so successful.
