Even though the main idea in playing frosh-soph football is to develop football players for varsity, the cubs also ran up some amazing scores. ln winning eight of ten games, the frosh-soph scored 216 points to their opponents' 78. The cubs had the advantage of an unusually large line and some speedy and hard- hitting backs. Many of the boys showed promising features that are sure to come out in the future. Coach Glen Crosby and Coach Ed Aspitarte are to be con- gratulated on their fine effort on and off the playing field. Ontario can rest assured that in the next few years the Ontario football teams will always make an impressive showing. 105 i This year's sports section is dedicated to Bob Feasel who recently resigned his posi- tion of head basketball coach at Ontario High School. In his five years of coaching basketball Mr. Feasel compiled a 71 win- 33 loss record while winning the champion- ship two times and tying for it three times. This year the Tigers had a T3-l record in league action and a l7-5 record for the entire season. Ontario shared the 1962 crown with the Emmett Huskies. An unusual thing is that the Tigers shared the crown last year with the Huskies. Both teams ended with identical I3-1 records. In five years as head basketball coach Feasel's teams have grossed an amazing 60 win-TO loss record in league play. Mr. Feasel is married and has two sons, Gary, 9, and Mark, 2. He and his wife, Mary Lou, came to Ontario from Bellville, Kansas, where he coached the Bellville High School football team. Mr. Feasel was born in Con- cordia, Kansas, on May l4, 1927. He re- ceived his teaching degree from Fort Hayes Kansas State College. lt is quite evident that Mr. Feasel will be greatly missed on the basketball court next year. Best of luck to a fine person who is respected and liked by all. m41Zef?a46et5aZl Left to right: Tom Ogowa, Jim Mehas, Bob Hale, Earl Blackaby, Tony Binder, Terry Baker, John Flynn, Gary Pearson, Chuck Miles, Ron Blankinship, Alfred Wilson. The will-to-win and a great amount of talent are only a few of the things that brought senior Gary Pearson the unsur- passed player award for the i962 basket- ball season. Gary is an all around athlete, having lettered in every maior sport at least two times. Besides having lettered in basket- ball for two years, Gary has also lettered in football three years, baseball four years, and track four years. There is little doubt of Gary's athletic ability. Standing 5 feet ll inches and weighing l77 pounds Gary al- ways remains in top physical shape. Red's subiects this year are: English lV, American problems, physics, air science, bookkeeping, and study hall. Gary classi- fies his favorite subiect as American Prob- lems but does not commit himself by saying who is his favorite teacher. Gary's future plans are not yet definite, but he knows he would like to take up for- estry when he decides upon which college he will attend. Now that the basketball season is over Gary will begin to start baseball and track. Gary plays the outfield excellently and is one of the top hitters on the team.
