The largest Senior class to graduate was in 1947, when one hundred and twenty-four grad- uated. However, fourteen were veterans graduating on the G. l. Bill. The class of '53 is the fiftieth anniversary class of the Ontario Public School. We are also the first class to graduate from the new Ontario High School. president. Two of the mostoutstanding accomplishments of the class of '53 were the class play, Mother is a Freshman , and the purchase of a trampoline, the first one in the Ontario High School. We have kept our reputation as good students, athletes, and classmates. Our class officers were Ralph Barker-president, Roy Tomiyoshi-vice president, Sally Lane-secretary, and Norris Gurney-treasurer. We had many activities on the agenda this year. The after game dances were better than ever with Velma Montgomery as chairman of the dance committee. The Junior Class put on the annual play which was a success dramatically and Financially. Our big event was the Junior-Senior Prom. We went all out for the best Prom stages at O. H. S. We, the class of'54, look forward to our last year at O. H. The Bulldogs traveled to Ontario for the first ofa two out of three game series. The Tigers took an early lead as the Bulldogs found it difficult to find the hoop in the first half. The halftime score was 24 to I4 in favor of Ontario. Baker came to life in the second half and cut the Tiger's lead down to three points. Ontario however, put the game on ice in the closing minutes by scoring five points from the foul line to ma e the score 44 to 39. Savage was high point man for Ontario with I3 points. Ontario journeyed to Baker For the second game of the series. From the very beginning it was obvious that Bakerwas determined to force the series into three games as they took a halftime lead of 25 to I7. As the second half began it looked as if it was going to be a reaccurance of the first half as Baker raced to a thirteen point lead but with Stone-r and Binder controlling the backboards and the guards beginning to hit, the Tigers completely outclassed the Bulldogs in the remainder of the quarter to emerge to a 36-31 lead. The Bulldogs came back considerably stronger in the fourth quarter but could not over come the fired up Tigers. As the Buzzer sounded the Tigers were on the top of a 43-40 score. Savage again dubed the scoring honors with II points. Winning the district championship entitled the Tigers to go to the State Tournament at Eugene. This was the first time in the entire history of the school that Ontario sent a team to the State Tournament.
