The coach is a four-year football letter man from the College of Idaho. He also served on the varsity basketball and baseball squads for two years besides managing each a season. The teams that Robinson has turned out are ones of which we may well be proud. In football, basketball, and baseball Ontario has scored many more points than her opponents. Coach Robinson will be with us again next year, and we wish him success for the coming seasons. Page 36 OWACHES '29 OWACHES Page 37 '29 7 nuthzrll With seven letter men as a nucleus and forty-five new men Coach Charles Robinson formed an eleven that annexed the championship of Eastern Oregon. A heavv schedule of nine games was arrangedg Ontario meeting Nampa, Cald- well, Union, and Baker in the course of the season. Winding up a wholly successful season, the Tiger Team defeated Prairie City on Thanksgiving Day 13 to O, thereby taking the Championship' of Eastern Oregon. Nyssa was the only conference team to score against the Corn and Cardinal. Center ,,A.tt Guards ..,tt Tackles ,,,..,..,... Ends ..s,,,,,....t,..... Half Backs ......,...... They started a heavy and long season on December 28, by playing Boise. For the first time in several years Ontario played Boise, Nampa, and Caldwell. The team was entered in three different tournaments: The Snake River Valley, in which they placed second, after being defeated by Weiserg the Southeastern Oregon Tournament, in which they Went through With no defeatsg and the Eastern Oregon Tournament at Union, Where they fought their Way to the semi-finals. Page 40 OWACHES '29 F asehzxll With ten letter men reporting at the opening of the base- ball season, every indication seems favorable for a success- ful season. Interest is greater in baseball this year as a result of the entrance of the Tigers in the Oregon-Idaho High School League aifording a schedule of nine conference games. The winner of this conference will be awarded a trophy cup donated by the D. 81 M. Athletic Equipment Company. The letter men are: Huffman QCD, Scholes, Storie, Prahl, Edwards, Stewart, D. Wood, Lines, Allen, Rutherford. Coach, Charles R. Robinson. GALE? The opening of the girls' baseball practice with eight letter girls on the team, gives promise also of a successful season. Interclass games will precede the interscholastic games in an effort to select the team, after which the regular schedule Will begin. Games have been arranged with Parma, N yssa, Vale, Weiser Institute, Fruitland and possibly Union. The letter girls are: Stewart, Castleman, Johnson, Boor, Sooter, Molenaar, Hurst, Newton.
