The little poem which I have selected to fill the top space on this page supplements very well the dynamic motto which you, the Class of 1941, have adopted, Uwe are not on top, but we are climbingn indicates that you are on your way to better things. You imply that you intend to get to the top--where there is always room. Too, you fully realize that it takes time and hard work to get there. There is always hope for those who realize their shortcomings and are willing to work for improvement. It is always with a pang of regret that I phrase a message to the Senior Class. This is especially true of this year's class. About 12 years ago I rode into Ontario on the HOntar1o Flyeru to begin my duties here. About the same time a number of tiny tots scrambled into their seats in the first grade. These same tiny tots are now on the verge of leaving their Alma Mater. Yes, you guessed it, you are the class to which I refer. We have traveled the path of knowledge together. It has been a most enjoyable experience for me to see you grow. Your joys have been our joys, and your sorrows our sorrows. We faculty members take a pardonable pride in feeling that we have had a hand in your success to date. From now on you are more or less Hon your ownn in this cold, cruel world. Some will go on to collegeg some will stay home and work on the farmg and still others will obtain positions with business and industry. , The best advice I can give you is to think carefully about the future. Do not be blinded by the glitter of a job in the effing. All that glitters is not gold. Weigh carefully your decisions before making them. You may be better off to stay on the farm or to go on with your education, than to take a position now which may only be temporary. Money is not everything. A man is poor, even though he may have many dollars, if that is all he has. The temptation is great at this particular time to give up the idea of further education to take a job now which pays fairly well. Look beyond the end of your nose when you make your decision. Life in the next few years will no doubt be filled with sacrifice. The lessons you have learned in Ontario High School should stand you in good stead. uLife is just one darned thing after anothern, states the cynic. Yet even the disagreeable things may be of real help to you. A philosopher once said that it's good for a dog to be pestered with fleasg it keeps him from thinking too much about being a dog. Good hard work, sprinkled here and there with failure as well as success, is good for us. It is said that most of us will rust out befzge we wear out. This year they have installed fluorescent llghting and have had the first floor interior decorated. They plan to do the other two floors in the very near future.
