The old School has served its time and is now to be replaced by a larger and more adequate building, better suited to the needs of the times. In 1925 a site, containing six acres of land, was purchased of Galen Craven for six thousand dollars. This land is across the street from the old building. A vote was taken March 18, 1926 on the proposition of building a new school. The tax- payers gave evidence of their civic pride and understanding of the needs of school children by voting for the proposed building almost unanimously. Plans have been drawn by Carl Ade, Architect and School Specialist of Rochester, and approved by the State Department of Education. It is to be a three-story building of pressed brick with stone trimmings. It will provide for five hundred pupils. Separate rooms will be provided for each grade, extra recitation rooms and library for High School use. Agricultural, domestic science, teachers' rooms and laboratories will be included. The auditorium will have a seating capacity of five hundred and forty, one hundred and forty of which will be permanent seats arranged in bleacher form, providing an unobstructed playing space of forty-two feet by sixty feet for games.
