an DQONTARJO AG,R,lCU't,TUR,AL - CGLLEGEJO Tl-IE LATE PROFESSOR WADE TOOLE HE Ontario Agricultural College suffered a severe loss in the death of Professor Wade Toole on January eleventh. As Professor of Animal Husbandry, Wade Toole had reached the top of his profession. Breeders, members of live stock associations and leaders in the pack- ing industries, agree in claiming that he was one of the foremost authorities on live stock in Canada. He was born in the County of Ontario forty-two years ago, and reared in the conditions that prevailed a generation ago on the farm, in an Ontario rural home of the best type, and in a good average rural community. At the age of twenty-one he entered the Ontario Agricultural College and in 1911 he was graduated. He was fora few months Assistant Agricultural Representative in Norfolk County. He then became Live Stock Editor of the Farmers' Advocate, and after two years became Managing Editor. He remained in this position until 1918, when he was offered the position of Professor of Animal Husbandry at his Alma Mater. About a year earlier than this he was offered a similar position at the Manitoba Agricultural Col- lege, but apparently at that time he did not wish to leave Ontario, and he declined the Manitoba ot'l'er. The Guelph offer, however, a year later, he accepted. The post at Guelph he tilled for ten years with distinguished ability and with increasing popularity among those who knew his work. In 1922-23 he secured the Degree of Master of Science from Iowa State College of Agriculture. Wade loole vias a iepiesentatixe Graduate of the Ontario Agricultural College.
