Eiaugfwwq We started out with 59 Freshmen, We were initiated by the Sophomores which was one of the most joyous events of our high school years. As Freshmen, we realized that in four years we would need money for our Senior Trip, so we began at once on money making projects, such as candy sales, bake sales, Irish Pig sales in our class meetings, and we sold Christmas Cards, However, we had time for pleasure also and found enjoyment in skating parties, picnics, and other types of parties. The V, LP, 's for our Freshman Class were: President: Mary Lou Kurtz, Vice President: Sidney Shoemaker, Secretary: Dale Riley, Treasurer: Dick Ab- bott, Reporter: Creda Lapham, Student Council: Jim Feller, and Esther Hadden. Our class advisor was Miss Beard, She was very helpful in our first year in High School, The next year we felt that we were becoming big wigs. We started the year off with a new advisor, Mr. Mettert. There were 61 members in the class. We now had the privilege of initiating the Freshmen. This year we went all out to raise money for our forth coming Senior Trip. We had two ham suppers, both being very successful., We had skating parties, candy sales, and a Christmas Dance. The V. I, P, 's for this year were: President: Esther Hadden, Vice President: Dale Riley, Secretary: Nancy Pelham, Treasurer: Mary Lou Kurtz, Student Council: Shirley Dawson, and Sidney Shoemaker. We ended with 54 members in the Sophomore Class. We began our Junior Year in 1953 with an enrollment of 54 pupils. This year was the year we really began working toward our trip, We had our play, put on two suppers and sold almost everything we could get our hands on, such as magazines, Ready- jell, and stationery. Neil Wilken sold 570. OO worth of sweatshirts himself. However our Junior Year wasn't all work., We prepared our big event, the Jr. and Sr. Prom, which was entitled Stairway to the Stars, The King was Howard Smead and Queen Susie Armstrong. We also put on the Annual Junior and Senior Banquet, which our mothers and fathers worked very hard at and was enjoyed by all, Our Student Council representative Mary Lou Kurtz was chosen for the American Legion Award for Girls State. With James Feller and Charles Feight going to Boys State. The big wheels for the Junior Year were: President: Clyde Dickerson, Vice President: Sidney Shoemaker, Treas- urer: Esther Hadden, Secretary: Creda Lapham, Student Council: Mary Lou Kurtz and Jim Feller. We the Seniors of 1955 began this year with 44 members. We worked hard on our projects to make the remainder of the money so we could go to Washington D, C., Our Editor of our annual, The Wildcat Pride , as did the rest of the staff worked and sweated until the last page was done. For our projects we sold ice cream, presented our play the Perfect Idiot , and of course the Annual Birthday Banquet. One of our Student Council representatives, Mary Lou Kurtz, was e- lected the D, A, R, good Citizen, The Class Officers were: President: Sidney Shoemaker, Vice President: Dick Abbott, Secretary: Lois Oliver, Treasurer: Shirley Dawson, Student Council: Clyde Dickerson, and Mary Lou Kurtz. This was the final chapter in the events of the Class of 55. We say thanks to Mr. Mettert for his patience and pushing that it took to make the Senior Class of 55 reach the Wanted Goal.
