HHow far to the next town?U asked the men eagerly. UA good two miles,n was the laconic reply. A weary half hour later a third rancher rode by. UHey, how far's the next town?,n ehorused the men in unison. ' UJust a piece down the road--about two miles, 11d say.n The Sergeant sighed, and then he brightened optimisti- callya Well, men, we're not gaining on it, but at least we're holding our own.n U J .QL QL 5 wr .5 ..
