The Student Speaks The WNDR round table discussion program has featured Valley in two programs so tar with another scheduled for May l2. On January 27 Should Eighteen Year-olds Be Allowed to Vote? was discussed by Marjorie Cameron, Kay Bruns, Richard Wright and Haden Patten with Marcia Frinlc as moderator. The Russian Way of Life was discussed by Martha Ann DeSiIva, Joan Richardson, Paul Thoman, Robert Wilson and Priscilla Parce served as moderator. These pupils were all members of International Relations Club. News I. Q. Valley won the News LQ. championship for the year ending May 3l, l950. This made the second consecutive year that Valley has received the trophy. At the trophy presentation, a News LQ. program was presented to the school senior assembly with Mr. Edward Bryant as quiz master. The two competing teams were a Valley iunior team and a team of seniors winning the victory. The current year's program started on January 6 with Valley meeting North. We have defeated North, Eastwood, Central, Smith Tech, and Vocational but we have been defeated by Nottingham. At the time of this writing Valley has l48 points, Nottingham I49V2 with the season ending May 26. Participants this season have been: Marcia Frinlr, John Churchill, Joan Freeman.
