As well as fwirling fhe balon each member has learned a 'lap dance roufine. The group of girls have been very co-operaiive and Valley should be proud of ifs Maior- eH'es and Flag Twirlers. On December 30, an enjoyable Chrislmas ar'ly was held af +he home of Mrs. Lohff. On March l I a dance was held in 'lhe Valiey gym. An lnsiallalion service was held on March 5, a+ 'lhe Onondaga Hol'el: Arlene Kelediian, Kennelh Wilbur, Nancy Normand, Barbara Merwin, Marlha Bedworlh, Malcolm Slone, Roy Shorii, Harry Ohlson, and Edward Murph were insialled. CHORUS HE fall season opened successfully when 'I'he O.V.A. Chorus presenfed a gg program for our parenis a+ Open House on November IO. The Brighfon 'i 'A Morhers' Club inviied +he chorus fo preseni a program on December I, ai Beauchamp Library. On December 22, we parficipafed in ihe Chrisimas program. The soloisfs were Jennie Karim and Marfin Ahlsrrandg fhe irio was Lena Nowaizky, Carol Landers, and Ruih Pepper. Edward Seeger, Waller Howard, and Kenneih Pierce were ihe Three Kings . This year 'lhere are 95 members in Chorus. A special balanced Choir of 45 voices was organized ihis year. December 24, a+ Crouse-Irving Hospiial was rhe Choir's 'lirsl' performance. Their nex+ was on February 26 when +he Choir sang on ihe Syracuse Schools in Ac+ion program -ihrough 'lhe facilifies of WSYR. The soloisis on ihis program were Beverly Cole, George Cox, and David Rogers. The Chorus pariicipaied in ihe Spring Fesiival ai Lincoln Audiforium on May 6 and boih ihe Choir and ihe Chorus in 'lhe Valley's Spring Concerl' on May I3. The members of Chorus and rhe Choir wish 'I'o express iheir grafiiude fo our excelleni direcior, Mrs. Horiense Dederer, who has worked so hard iraining us. A 'laleni show was siaged in Valley Audiforium on February I7, and I8, I949 in which Vocafional, Cen'l'ral Noiringham and Valley parficipafed. The iwo prize winners from Valley were Hamilion Dixon and Barbara CoHe'H.
