The Us fi' i money was used To enroll our school as a member of The Junior Red Cross. 1. arm IT' 'Pi Dorofhy Grossman and Thelma Cogswell were elecTed as delegaTes for The CiTy-Wide Senior Council of Junior Red Cross. Charles Kelly, having been elecfed as delegaTe for The CiTy-Wide Junior Council of Junior Red Cross, was chosen presidenf of This organizafion. AT Thanksgiving Time wiTh The co-operaTion of The sTudenT body, we filled TwenTy-seven baslcefs for needy families in our communiTy. AT Chrisfmas Time we paclced a baslceT for a poor family and also filled Two Chrisfmas bags for children in The SaniTarium. These bags conTained combs, Toofh brushes, TooTh pasTe, pajamas, Toys, cloThing and games. The candy sale we held was very successful. The dance held in The Valley Gym on November Twelffh, proved To be a success boTh socially and financially. In The spring we held anofher Tag day To raise funds To send our delegaTe, Mary Emma PeTers, To San Francisco, California, To The Annual ConvenTion held This year from May Zncl To May 5Th. Mary Emma spolce aT The Convenfion, her Topic being, The Supporf of The NaTional Children's Fund. Several sociefies and organi- zafions including Phi Delfa Sigma, K. E., Pi Omega Phi, SenaTe, Oval, Dracova, Van Duyn ParenT-Teacher AssociaTion and Onondaga Valley Communify Club and Valley Parenf-Teacher Associafion, conTribuTed money for our delegaTe. We held a Food Sale which proved successful, and sponsored The Frisco Follies, presenTed during AcTiviTy period, April 29Th in The school audiTorium. We had TalenT from CenTral and VocaTional as well as Valley pupils. The Red Cross Council conducTed a Tinfoil-saving campaign here in school and all sTudenTs responded well wiTh Their conTribuTions. Tinfoil Thus collecTed was given To The Tigris Shrine for The benefif' of The Crippled Children's l-lospiTals.

Sianley Smifh and Thomas Lynch represen+ed +he chapier al 'rhe Hi-Y Con- ference af Albany. They look along a bill +o be submiHed lo rhe Assembly. On December 2O+h. 'rhree former Valley Hi-Y men now alfending colleges spoke lo 'rhe chapler. Bill Woodworlh of Springfield, Jack Wells of Colgale and Norman Sanger ol S+. Lawrence sfressed The poinr of sfudying in college. The monlhly supper mee+ings were, of course, lhe high spofs of The year's aciivilies. Tri-Y and l-li-Y held a ioin+ supper meefing during February. Afler lhe meeling lhe members of bolh organizaiions had 'rhe privilege of hearing Mr. Marks, commonly known as Mr. Fixi+. The affair was enioyed immensely by all. l-li-Y played an imporlani parl in 1'he colleclion of lhe Alhlelic Tax during 'rhe Spring Term. One of 'rhe main accomplishmenfs of 'rhe year was fhe forming of a cons+i+u+ion for The chapler. Up unlil now 'rhe chapfer had been funclioning wilhoul a consfilu- iion. The documenl was drawn up by a commiilee headed by Grani Murray. If has proved salisfaclory io all 'rhose aiiilialed wilh 'rhe organizafion. Two inferesiing discussions were conducled by Syracuse Universiiy debale slu- denls, one on war and The oiher on isms. Those joining fhe sociefy af fhis fime were: Doris Arnold, Beffy Besig, Marilyn Blaisdell, Edwena Brown, Violef Case, Vyvyan Conley, Rosemary Elliof, Rufh Harringfon, Helen Hickman, Lillian Holmes, Rufh Howell, Vivian Janes, Doris James, Orel Lanning, Marfha Ludingfon, Eleanor Maas, Dorofhy Marks, Lois Mafheny, Nan Mafhers, Lyla Prichard, Virginia Roberfs, Audrey Roehm, Eleanor Sfeer, Gloria Sfuarf, Mary Jane Suffon, Janis Thompson, Leona Thorne, Doris Weaver, and Grace Weeks. A Silver Tea was held in December and fhe girls' audience was mosf enfhusiasfic over fhe program which included a one acf play, a fashion show, and vocal solos. As fheir expression of fhe Yulefide spirif, fhe Oval members filled a baskef of food and one of foys for a deserving family. During Chrisfmas vacafion old and new members of fhe sociefy frafernized af one of Oval's favorife recreafions, a Theafre Parfy, followed by a covered dish supper af fhe Y.W.C.A. On January fwenfy-sevenfh, OvaI's sleigh ride addicfs and friends immensely enioyed fhemselves af one of fhe old fime evenfs, which was concluded af Beffy Allen's home. Beffy Cornaire, Lonnell Weaver, and Flora Johnson, affended fhe Tri-Y con- venfion held in Syracuse, February 25, 26, 27. Recenfly several oufside speakers have addressed fhe club. Numerous evenfs for replenishing fhe freasury were scheduled by fhe resourceful members. One of fhese, a Barn Dance Frolic, was ably direcfed by Lillian Holmes, Violef Case, Virginia Roberfs, Eleanor Sfeer, and Doris Arnold. The dance fook place in fhe Onondaga Hill Grange Hall on April 29. This affair, ending a dance free lull of five years, proved fo be very successful bofh socially and financially. Much credif is due fo our adviser, Mrs. Soufhworfh, and our capable sfaff of officers, for a phenomenally successful year.
