J, H J. 1 lhe CD53 Form Fon The cast of 1955 was gathered by a long and difficult process. To begin with, there were playing at the central building in the first year: Eleanor Isbell, Ralph Abbott, Thelma Abbott, Marlene Martin, Emma Putnam, Carl Fenner and Marcia Nicholls. At the same time, back there at the Rockwell School there were such bud- ding stars as: Marilyn Stanton, Robert Jones and Chuck McKeen. This was indeed a fine start for this little group that was to reach such glorious heights. All went along quite well for this persevering little cast, for eight years. They learned many skills that would later prove invaluable to them in the greatest production the group would ever create. At this point in their careers, they embarked upon the first of their last four years of preparation for this production. By this time the cast had added to the original group such nota- bles as: Jane Barcza, Peter Browne, Mike Connor, Dick Duffy, Bob Galusha, Sharon Hahn, Dick Kilts, Louis Karb, Eugene Karb, Beverly Randall, Dick Stewart, and Dick Whalen. The president of this stalwart group was Dwight Putnam, the vice-president was Louis Karbg the secretary was Dick Kilts, and the treasurer was Donald Oswald. Their venture that year consisted of a play under the leadership of Miss Knights. The Nashes, Ronnie and Bob, joined the group of its existence. Dick Kilts led the group as beth Vincent was vice-presidentg Donald Oswald Nancy Mara was secretary. With Mr. Stenard as they took on the venture of selling pop at the in the next year presidentg Eliza- was treasurer and their director, football games. Janet and Sandy Mabie and Shirley Johnson joined our cast for the next to last year of preparation. It was an eventful year with the choosing of a class ring, the production of the year- book, the first successful Prom, not to mention the sale of banners and popcorn at football games. Dick Kilts was once again president, Thelma Abbott, vice-president, Nancy Mara, secretary, and Peter Browne, treasurer. This was indeed a successful year in the development of the careers of the stars Marion DeGroff and Jim Sayles, a post-graduate, joined the group for this last year of preparation. HThe Skeleton Walksn with the cast of: Dick Kilts, Janet Mabie, Marlene Martin, Sandy Mabie, Marilyn Stanton, Dick Duffy, Jane Barcza, Ralph Abbott, Thelma Abbott, Louis Karb, Chuck McKeen and the able stage-hand Bob Jones, was the principal undertaking of the year. Officers for this year consisted of: Dick Kilts, president, Janet Mabie, vice-president, Thelma Abbott, secretaryg Peter Browne, treasurer. Sandy Mabie as valedictorian and Peter Browne as salutatorian led the group scholastically. Bent on going to New York, the cast of 1955 joined forces on such projects as: candy, magazine, writing paper, and hat sales, ham and fish suppersg and a talent show. They were justly rewarded for their efforts by a glorious trip to New York for five days and four nights. This has been a never-to-be-forgotten year and all are looking forward, with just a little sadness, to their last and final production as a group, HCom encement l955n.
