No football game is complete without the presence of the scoreboard, no band concert, game, or parade is complete without the fine uniforms of the players. Next year's new OHS will include an indoor swimming pool for the use of all stu- dents. An appreciation for these gifts is felt by OHS students-many chances for personal growth and enjoy- ment have been made available through the patronage of W., Clyde Wright. Originally from Cooperstown, the W. Clyde Wright family has made Oneonta its home for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Wright's three children all graduated from OHS and are presently enjoying various successes. Eight grandchildren s complete the family portrait. The Wright's deep sense of family unity is a basic principle of their lives-and a concern for young people, in gen- eral, facilitates their involvement in OHS. We students of OHS have experienced many educational opportunities in our years here--the education we leave with goes beyond mere book- learning. We have been afforded many opportunities for self-development, which were not in the budget, through the concern and generosity of an individual who cares about the quality of educational experience. With heartfelt appreciation we reach out and say thanks must not be over- CiI'Cl6S .fx ,V N V , B 0: ..,, A 1 W- Af' nu-1i'! The moon is a free circle as it floats among the clouds. eg-WFMLFT bi Humanity's growth brings a need for mechanization. We reach to the circle, Gears mesh and wheels turn. The movement of these circles con- trols the movement of our soul, the movement of our nation. Circles are transportation, buses to school, cars to work and bicycles down old roads. 'Q W egg? V W-. E 2 R f WW? This year's theme states that man's life is a circle. lt thus follows that each day, each month, and each year of man's life is also a circle, thus a circle within a circle. Defining life in this manner can be restrictive and limiting or expansive and limitless. We can exclude people, experiences, observations and education or we can develop the diameter and circumference to be as inclusive as we choose. The problem is, once completed, our circles cannot be recast. Our per- sonal circles for each day, each month, and each year should result in the greatest possible circle for life. Therefore, if our life's circle is to reach its potential we must cause each inner circle to expand to its greatest possible dimension. 1170! two Ms. Carol Puchir fRightJ Ms. Esther Bordinger, Custodian, Ms. Marie Gardner, Health Secretary. fBelowJ Ms. Lahja Signor, Kitchen Staff, Ms. Olga Squaires, Kitchen Staff. lFar top rightj Mr. Richard Schuyler, Instrumental Music, Mr. jim Lewis, Health, Mr. Bob Grant, Science. lFar bottom rightl Mr. Edward Onody, Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Frederick Bardsley, Superintendent. sin? , ' KB- Y if ' X., Qu xg , uf rg' 1? iadm., 32431.53 x a wt.. During this time she has served youth of all ages from kindergarten through college. Always one to accept a challenge, she started right out with an un- usual one. Hired to teach in South Otselic at a time when many po- tential coaches were overseas, she soon found herself in charge of boys varsity basketball, her team won the league championship. .arf f, W Y af H .1 -vs From this auspicious beginning she went on to teach, run intramurals, advise cheerleading, and coach in Peru LNYJ, Walton, Broward County, Florida and Saranac Lake. Then, in 1958, she decided on Oneonta. Outside of her regular classroom duties, Ms. LeClair's major contri- butions during these eighteen years have been to revamp and revitalize Girls' Leaders Club, and to create a thriving intramural program that is Mu., Q9 envied throughout the state. Her goal. has always been to run the total physical education program for the benefit of the greatest possible number. Activities should be available to everyone, not iust the specially skilled. Putting theory into practice, nine sports are offered for the enioyment of the OHS distaff population. Ms. LeClair's tenure in Oneonta has been a significant and positive one-we hope her retirement will be, as well. drama club 'U Far left: Make-up for You Can't Take it With You, fall production.
