Conch Duncan CJf4E5 .X . V Sitier' 11+ L? sw-K VARSTY BASKETBALL TEAM VAR ITY BA KETBALL The O.H.S. Basketeers ended the 52-53 season with a very respectable record of 11 wins and 7 defeats. In- cluded in these were double defeats over Cazenovia, Rome, Chittenango, and Waterville. This record enabled the O.H.S. Redskins to clinch second place for the sec- ond year in a row. Next year, the Orange and Blue will be without the able assistance of Harry Zophy, Paul Tanner, Dick De- veans, Bill DeVries, Bill Przybycien, Bud Haenlin, Ronald Durkee, and Marty Angelino who were Seniors. But Coach Duncan can look forward to a victorious '54 season with Terry Quain, Bob Corona, and John Clements returning. Right Fareground: Coach Duncan. First Row, L. to R.: Tanner, Durkee, Angelino, Clements, Corona. Second Row: Zophy, Deveans, DeVries, Quain, Haenlin, Przybycien, Schuclr.

TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS The residents of Our Town can be proud of their football squad which performed for us last fall. They played their way into the Tri-Valley Championship, after being undefeated in every league game. One of the greatest contributions to this year's team was the fast moving T-fox-mr tion that was introduced by head coach, Ray Agudo, and a greatl welcomed newcomer to the Oneida faculty, Chuck Patricia. Sparked by the brilliant running plays of Carl Phillips and Pete Perkins, and the blocking and deception by the linemen and baclrfield, the team displayed the best brand of football that 0.1-LS. has seen in many a season. john Peretta, Jerry Friske Co-Captains XX ff 4 ff H, A, XX L. to R.: Coach Agudo, Manager Dave Brown, Coach Patricia.

The JV Football team had a very victorious season under the observant eyes Ju of james Gleason and William Fariel, who are newcomers to the Oneida faculty this year. Most of the squad was made up of new players, but there were a few veterans from last year's team to help out when the going was tough. The team won six out of six straight games, and then decided to tackle the V.V.S. Varsity, excluding only Seniors. They did a magnificent job, losing by only five points. JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL The IV Basketball squad, under the coaching of Ray Agudo, came through in fine fashion after a shaky start. Because of inerperience, they lost four of their first six games, but with this valuable experience gained, they won eight of the next nine. The team established a new high of 85 points for both JV and Varsity competition against Waterville. Kneeling, L. to R.: Flanagan, Amold, Miller.
