Drarnatlc Club The Onelda Hxgh Eurxpldeans have once agam completed a varied and successful season Under the capable and patient supervxslon of Mrs Gertrude M Buckland we produced one three xct play one one act play several radno plays and sponsored the annual prnze speaking contest The major productxon of the year was a three act play entitled The Vampire Bat by Robert St Clalr The players m order of castmg were Barbara Latham Bennett Crocock Rosemary Garvm Norman Bortle Robert Sutherland Betty Wxlklnson Charles Twomey Weston Wells Marllyn Knapp Mary Froass Leonard Pavelka Stuart Hess and Betty LaFaro As the name suggests thxs was a mystery melodrama a story of romance and attempted murder on a lonely wlndswept xsland off the Pacnflc Coast On February l the annual Mohawk Valley Drama Festrxal was held at Cazenoua The schools represented were Canastota New Hartford Clmton Whxtesboro Sherrlll F3blU5 Cazenoxla and Oneida Vie were greatly honored by the presence of the author Gordon Alderman at our productxon of Dots and Dashes whlch featured Leonard Payelka Marllyn Knapp Barbara Colher Bennett Grocock Charles Twomey Betty Wxlkmson and Ianet Coyell The partxcxpants xn the Prxze Speakxng Contest were Betty W1lk1nson Ianet Cowell Barbara Latham Rosemary Cvarvm ack Sxlyerman Mllton Xedts Charles Twomey and Bennett Grocock Offxcers Presxdent Bennett Grocock Vxce Presxdent Betty Wrlkxnson Secretary Exleen Behr Treasurer Charles Twomey fir . , .t. .5 . -F1 .Q or as V7 Art Club The Art Club meets every Tuesday after school under the direction of Miss Barber Anyone who has taken Design I is eligible The officers are as follows President Eleanor Hermann Vice President anet Covell Secretary Earl Kempe The making of decorative designs for wooden bracelets rings boxes or trays and then applyinq them by painting or carving was our hrst problem Later we took up ceramic sculpture making decorative masks The head is first modeled with clay or wax the mask is then made on this form They may be painted in natural color or fantastically and are to be used for wall decoration During this year two hlms have been shown one on The Making of Indian Pottery ind the other The Last of the Wood Engravers Miss Barber qaxe us a grand party the first of the vear and e have had i qreii l I f interesting vxork ., t 'P v ,il 'U .
