Now - you boys stop that. Class History LILLIAN LYMAN K, 5, of Oneida H1011 School, fox it 18 the last class to be gladuated from ,Emi the old building. Our class is not so large as some former ones, but we hope and believe that it consists of quality rather than quantity. llld Class ol' '27 will always hold an important position in tl1e history g' L . . . . ' in nineteen twenty-three we entered the building where we have spent the greater part of our time during the last four years. VVe were a very large class and nearly iilled Study Hall B. The members of our class have shared many good times together. In our fi-eslnnan year we had a Christmas partyg the next year a sophomore partyg the third year a Junior Prom and a picnic, and this year includes a sleigh- ride, lVashington trip, Junior Prom, picnic, Senior Banquet and Class Night. Our trip, the places of historic interest, good times and experiences will not soon be forgotten. The only thing that we regret is that every member of the class could not be with us. lVe have tried to be a loyal class--loyal to all the activities of the school. We have been earnest students and also ardent boosters of athletics and the various exploits of the institution. During our four years here, I believe we have done what was expected of us. As freshmen we stood in awe of the upper classmen. As sophomores We Xkept climbing. As Juniors we put over the Junior Prom and helped the Seniors on their movie benefit and food sales. As Seniors we have worked diligently for our Easter trip and our Senior Annual, but most of all, we have striven to bring honor to our school through our intellectual attainments. On reflecting over these four years fwhich seem so short just nowl We feel how much we owe to our principal and teachers and our relations with them will always be a pleasant memory. ' Class Prophecy George lfrein-h Around a dint and tirelit hall, The olden gang had niet To eroon of days ot' long ago And speak of the grizzled vet . Famed and mighty were the guestsg Most all of them doing well, And answering in an aged voice YVas our principal, HAI Covell. XVithstanding the questions fired at him And answering true and hold, lie spoke ol' his illustrious pupils His story was speedily told. ln alphetieal order The nantes re-echoed with might, And in answer to his name Each one then told his plight. 'tIrvy plays with Sousa, He sounded now a note. Tho, coming from a golden horn, It sounded like a goat. Of course, you know Clements And his energetic: pace. Some day hVilll2llllZlk0l'7il die And Ralph will take his place. A doctor builds our bridges, Our mouths are iilled with lead, For Cody's just a dentist. fllow we wish that he were dead.j XVe heard of all our lawyers, Most famous was our Sm-ull . He used to tell such good, clean jokes, But now he slings clean mud. Davis , Called our principal. Here and well , Miles replied, 'tMy tll'lll.S as good as finest silk, NVith Johnson I am tied. All the way from Hollywood Our Don Juan had come In a brand new Rolls-Just-Great, William Joseph Dunn. Along with Billy Joseph Johnny had come, too. Hels starring in feature roles, Just like Monte Blue. Cha had gone to Turkey To keep his forty wives. If he had a wish he'd say, Can't I live ten lives ?', We'1l leave the boys for just a while, Our principal now did tell, Let's turn to all the pretty girls. Isn't that like Covell? Agne and Avery Have married, and today We find them praying Why did I get that way ? Miss Hendrina A meyden Is now in old Berlin, Peddling age-old bootleg But the shekels are coming in. Graeey Berical and her shadow, Dot Hinkley, are fat no more, But they sure do have their troubles Getting thru a door. Ileta is Mrs. Hovey. Miss Bl'9XVSt61'7S no longer small. At its inception, it took the lornn ot a single sheet. S2451 fill its hrst birthday, lt underwent the change troln this iorln to that of a magazine. This type of school publication was issued for the next four years. In September, 1921 a radical innovation took place, changing The Dial from a bi-monthly magazine to a monthly newspaper. This change was found to be inipracticable and this year we have returned to the forin of a bi-monthly magazine, a much better form for a small school. IVe owe a great deal to Miss IUQZIIOII who is leaving us this year for another field of activity. She it was who iirst conceived the idea that Oneida High should and could have a school paper and in her First year here she founded The Dial. She has been our Facility advisor for eight years and we ol' the Dial Staff will feel her loss keenly.
