Class Grumbler As the official class grumbler I feel it my duty to grumble about things I think are wrong with my school. Take Buddy Bauman, for example. He is always interupting class recitation to tell something about his neighbors. He very seldom gets to school on time, I think his '36 Chevy needs an overhaul job. La Rae Chandler is always talking without permission and when she is called down, she quickiy forgets about it and starts talking again. I think she should try to control herself more in school and on the basketball court. Barbara King is just as bad as La Rae, in fact, they work as a team in carrying on a constant stream of conversation. Two of a kind, I'd say. Laura Smith is the quiet, reserved type. If she would go out more often she would then see the brighter side of life. Raymond Hoover is always hollering about the poor grades he gets in school, But if he would get his mi nd off Naomi he would get A's all the time. Vaden Allen, like Raymond, has difficulty passing tests. He should stay in school instead of Chariey McCali's Junk Yard. Naomi Minor seems to have plenty of pep before school begins, but once the bell rings she seems to lose herself in daydreams. We wonder if some Sabetha boy is causing those vacant stares. Lucille Reasy seemes to be a perfectly healthy young girl. It seems that she is unable to walk to and from school and must ride in a blue Chevrolet. Aurellis Grose was a perfectly normal girl until she was given a part in the play Just Ducky , in which she went crazy. She still hasn't returned to normal. Perhaps she doesn't know the play is over. Mary Ann is a good girl and all of that but the way she struts around here you would think she was the whole Junior class. 11

see Hie ‘wn ae ROBERT EUGENE REASY Robert Eugene Reasy was born one mile north of Sycamore Springs on August 17, 1932. His mother's maiden name was Florence Van Dyke. His father's name is Scott Reasy. Both his parents are of Sabetha, Kansas. Robert entered the first grade in Modesta, California. Later in the year the family moved back to Kansas where he finished the first grade at Oskaloosa, Kansas. Bob then moved back to Sabetha, Kansas where he went to school until he reached the sixth grade. He then came to Oneida, Kansas where he has remained except for his Freshman year of high schooi which he spent at Fairview, Kansas. During his high school years Robert has participated in Basketball, Softball, and Glee Club. He also played roles in the plays, Just Ducky , and Apron String Revolt . He was elected Sectetary-Treasurer of the class during his Sophomore and Junior years. 10

Now it is alright for a person to be conservative with money, but Robert Reasy is so miserly that he will not buy razor blades so he can shave before coming to school in the mornings. Richard Boltz never used to study until Patsy left and now he is studying all the time. I wonder if she had anything to do with it. Jerry Allen comes to school a little more on time this year but is always complaining of a headache. Leonard Grose is always hollering his head off when he takes a test because of this question and that; but he always comes through with A's. Betty Allen is a pretty good student but she seems to be a lot better at hitting basketball goals than she is at hitting typewriter keys. Mrs. Kibler seems to have taught the girls quite a lot about cooking and sewing, but the girls wish that Mrs. Kibler would let them make more cakes and candy. Mr, Dickerman is a nice principal and all that; but when he makes the boys duck-walk across the gym he creates enemies. It looks like he could be a little easier on the boys in athletics. Mr. Sparling is a good enough teacher most of the time, but there are days when he is awful grouchy and hard to get along with. We wonder if it could be because he has made a long trip to Sabetha. Now you can see why I'm always in a bad humor. If we could just get rid of these faults, we wouldn't need 2 Class Grumbler. 12
