'Q STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council of 1947 48 got off to a flying start by purchasing a Zenith radio phonograph combination for use at noons, parties, and other gatherings It set us back financially Cfor a while we operated in the red! We had a short assembly on the afternoon of October 25 to initiate the new addition to the school Parties the Student Council sponsored this year include the Student Council Party on November 14, the Dance on November 10, and the Christmas Party on December 23 The Christmas Party was the highlight of the year with a lovely dinner being served in the Gym and a dance and Christmas Tree in the Library The Stud ent Council is planning a picnic for the end of the year we attended a Student Council Convention at Macomb learning much about the duties of Student Council members and heard an in spiring address by Dr. Hand from the University of Illinois. The Student Council has devised means by which lunch rooms can be kept clean and the school-yard can be kept clear of waste paper. We know that there is yet much to be done in the way of im- provement of our school, but we feel proud of the things we have accomplished in this a successful year. ' 1 ' -' C I 'iv J sf 4' .
