What has been related is of more importance. Some subjects should be read from matter of duty rather than for pure pleasure. The writers hope that each reader will not find the history too dry in spots, as all humor has been removed from the pages After all life is a sera ious proposition. Our book review today is a discussion of the latest book just off the Oneida High School press. ION 7fw Mohawk S K E T B A Every year Basketball is becoming a more popular sport than any o er O H S can be proud of 1t's season of 14 wins and losses We have played some highly rated teams including Monmouth, Alpha, and Corpus Christi The fans have surely been behind the boys this year Many stood in line waiting for the doors to open and attended as many out-of town games as gas would permit. The school spirit has been at 1t's peak this year also The boys and girls have come regularly and we have had a large cheering section at all our home games and most of the games away, Our cheerleaders, Virgie and Pat, have done a fine Job leading our yells and keeping up the pep at the games Much praise should be given to our coach, and to our principal and teachers for their long hours of work toward making our season a success Our boys this year were small but fast and at times hit the basket with considerable accuracy The team is also young and should go far in the years to come. We entered 3 tournaments, The Corpus Christi Invitational, the Knox County, and the Oneida District After some hard battles, we walked off with 2nd in the County and Consolation Champs of the Corpus Christi Invitational which netted us two handsome trophies The usual lineup was VARSITY POS RESERVES Adams Ccapt J forward Adams Johnson forward Nyman Johnson center Harmison Hannam guard Foster Adams guard McK1e The scores of the games Oneida Alumni Oneida Abingdon Oneida Alpha Oneida La Fayette Oneida Woodhull Oneida Billtown Oneida Altona Christi Tournament Oneida Monmouth Oneida Knoxville Oneida Avon Oneida Victoria Oneida Knoxville Oneida La Fayette Oneida Wataga Oneida Billtown Oneida 32 Woodhull B A L L tn . . . . 14 c.
