We, the Senior Class of 1981, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. THE SENIORS 33 Senior Class Prophecy May 2, 1991 Dear Karen, Can you believe we’ve been out of high school ten years? I never dreamed of living anywhere besides Onarga, but my job in speech therapy has taken me pretty far from home, and I haven't seen some of the old classmates in years. Before I come home for the reunion, will you tell me what some of our classmates are up to now? You're still teaching second grade at Onarga, aren't you? I heard that Bob Esperum now owns the Onarga State Bank. That's wonderful. And I heard that Eugene Bork expanded Bork Nurseries and that they now have branches all over the world and on the moon. Is Bill Poppie helping to manage those? I’d think he'd have his hands full running Poppie Industries Water Heaters. I got a letter from Kathv Gerdes the other day, but her name isn't Gerdes anymore. She's doing a wonderful job with her family and she has a great executive secretarial position in a huge firm. Is it true that Santos Lopez is a swinging bachelor in California? Remember all those days he missed school? Well, he must have been panning for gold and struck it rich. And have you heard that Karl Crist and Marty Coleman got tired of working at Best's and decided to get into business for themselves? They bought out the K-Mart stores and changed the name to Karl-Mart. Of all people, guess who’s teaching kindergarten here! Rhea Schnepper. I guess helping Mrs. Wasmer for all those hours really paid off. I was driving in the city one day last week and I saw someone who looked quite familiar. He had on flashy clothes, white patent leather shoes, and a long fur coat. I drove around the block again, so I could get a better look, and I could have sworn it was Jesus Martinez. Well, please get back to me soon with the reunion details and any information you have on the other classmates. I can't wait to hear from you. Your friend, Connie May 11,1991 ’ Dear Connie, I was really glad to hear from you. Everything is so hectic now trying to get invitations sent out for our class reunion. You know how Pam Olson always wanted a big house in the country? Don't forget your swimsuit and tennis racket because our reunion is being held on Pam’s estate. I have located everyone except Brian Bottorff. When his mother had last heard from him, he was on some type of safari in Africa, experimenting with unknown tropical plants. Onarga has increased in size tremendously over the past ten years. The population is now 21,645. We're not a village anymore but a city. Tve Funk, our old classmate, was elected Commissioner of streets and park districts in the last election. Tye has really made a huge step up from working for the village. Remember Jim Gaddis? He went through four or five cars in two years. Well, now Jim owns a fleet of six race cars. He races all of them himself, and has won several titles. Jim is now headed for the Grand Prix Finals in Europe. Anita Lopez, another of our old classmates, has started a day care center. She has elaborate buildings and a lot of new play-groud equipment. I visited there one day last week, and you'll never guess whom I found painting the walls. Mark Zirkle! He’s a building contractor in charge of a crew of one hundred men. He paints on the side. I guess all of that hard work in art class paid off. As you already know, Tammi White and Lisa Brosseou tried going to college and tried working in the big business world, but just couldn't be satisfied. So they opened a boutique. Well, it started out as that but became so well-known that they started o corporation that develops and manufactures cosmetics—everything from foot cream to eye shadow. Their most popular product is Egg Shampoo. All the time Sheri Bailey spent busing tables really prepared her for the restaurant business. She now owns and operates all of the truckstops in Gilman. I have to get back to writing out invitations for the reunion . now. I'm looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. We, too, in setting a new course in life must have an objective or goal. Where do you want to go in life? What do you wish to accomplish? A purpose, an effective result, is required of every beginning. Christianity is a faith of beginnings. The first four words of the Bible are: “In the beginning God . ..
