Mackatia Island Tahiti May 28, 1965 Dear Donna: I have just returned from a delightful week at Linda's marvelous 153 room mansion on Paradise Island. With a bowling alley, swimming pool, football field, horse track, and drag strip, it was a perfect spot for our 10th class reunion. Lin is married to a fabulously rich doctor and has eight children. One of the first classmates I ran into was Curt who is now in the booming business of alligator wrestling. As a well-known champion he is proud to say he has never thrown a match. I was hailed by Joyce Hawkins who rushed to tell me that she is living in Malibu where she is married to The King of the Surfers . John is also stationed in California while in the USMC. He believes in close companionship with his men; so, even though he is a general, he makes his quarters in the barracks. At the swimming pool I ran across Danny, handsome in a blue, orange, green and red bathing suit. In answer to your unasked question, Danny has received his doctor's degree in chemical engineering. I happened to run across Hope at one of the tennis courts and she was telling me about her job as Admiral of the Naval Base at Great Lakes. Rich and Marlene were there looking as happy as two lovebirds. Rich now has the job of official cheerleader at all Chicago Bear football games. Speaking of lovebirds, I heard Amy Mikeworth is now Mrs. Bob Sang. Remember Ray? Well, he has just gotten back from a secret trip to the moon for the FBI, something about Goldcheese. Erv proudly told me he now has a chain of Shell stations stretching across the Sahara Desert. While I was walking to the bowling alley, I bumped into JoAnne who happened to be rushing to the race tracks. She works at General Foods as exectuve vice-president. Dick was inside bowling a game. He says he is very content as Prof, of Photography at Fink University. I always knew he was a second Allen Funt! In conjunction with The International Yogi Bear Memorial Day”, Barry Benner has invited our whole class to Jelly Stone Park, where he is the head ranger. Aria says she is planning to go, and will have room in her limousine if anyone wants to ride along. Aria will stop in New York to pick up Ed Ronna. Ed is now an accountant for Acme Steel Inc. He says he eventually hopes to learn the art of embezzlement. Out in California, Pete and Hugh are enjoying a monopoly on the sale of surfboards. Pete, Kay, and their four children are happily settled in their modest $156,431 home; Hugh's blood-clot red semi-trucks can be seen transporting surfboards all over the world. You'll never guess who Pat Day, R. N., ran into on one of her recent missions to deepest Africa--Kaye Lovell. Pat was operating on a sick native when Kaye came swinging down from the trees on a grapevine. Kaye said she and her husband, Albert Schweitzer, are just fine. I saw Cynthia and she is on Cloud 9. She's just received her first Oscar for her portrayal of the Witch of The East in the Wizard of Oz. Another celebrity in our class is Joyce Henrichs. She won the $10,000 Betty Crocker Bake-Off for her luscious receipe for leech livers. Rod Schriefer thinks Joyce's recipe would be excellent for rapid weight gain. He plans to use it on his 3000 acre pig farm. With that many hogs, Rod needs a good veterinarian, and our old classmate, Bob Schleef has agreed to fill the job as Rod's private vet. Bob still hasn't found the right girl, but Judy Arends has got her man. She's married a Prof, of Psychology at the U. of I. On my way to the football field I met Mike who is now Sheriff of Onarga. He has the distinction of being the only sheriff wanted by the FBI near VeTWHWflldiiy louna true love. Shelias mad crush on an IBM machineTnTt W Tauia Lewis told me all about it when we were taking a steam bath. Paula is now Drivers Training Instructor and Truant Officer at Onarga High. Gary has made quite a name for himself as a civil rights leader. On one of his many trips down South he was amazed to see Nancy living in a remodeled outhouse. In her conversation with Gary, Nancy, surrounded by her 14 kids, revealed that she had been secretly married since the age of 15. I m really sorry you couldn't come to our reunion, but I imagine you and Larry are enjoying yourselves in Europe. U must have been quite a struggle getting your 29 daughters, 3 cats, and 1 son through customs. It was nice though, that you could all be there at the Grand Prix to cheer Larry on. Too bad he came in last. Of course you know that I am now living on Mackatia Island doing experiments that won me the Nobel Prize for physics. In my spare time I have been teaching the natives poise and co-ordination. Which reminds me, it is about time for one of my classes so I'd better leave. As ever, Marg 10
