Nargee sees that the Sophomores, having survived the bitter trials of their Freshman year, have been an active and confident class. They seem to have overcome their shyness as Freshmen to become wise Sophomores. These Sophomores are certainly doing their share of studying! They can be seen pondering over their Latin verbs; carefully composing themes and poems for English; being momentarily stumped by an algebra equation; or cramming for one of those biology tests. Even though they study hard, they find time to take an active part in many of the activities atO. H. S. These activities, including choruses, Onarquois Staff, G. A. A., F. F. A., F. H. A., and National Honor Society have many eager Sophomores on their membership lists. The class of 54 has made a fine record this year and all its members are looking forward to the joys of being juniors next year.

These Freshmen will never forget this bit of poetry which helped initiate them into hign school. They were informally initiated into the high school by the Seniors on October 23, at an all school party. Following this a cordial welcome into school was given them by the Sophomores in the way of a Freshmen-Sophomore Reception. The Freshmen, although the youngest group, were well represented in football, basketball, chorus, band, and many of the other organizations as well.
