Hobbs and Major Carl P. Denney. Captain Hobbs, our class sponsor, has brought us through many difficulties these past four years. We know that the road has looked rough at times and his efforts to make better men of us are appreciated by all members of the class. Major Denney, who arrived during our junior year, has done everything possible to make our class one of the best. He has been a symbol of honesty, integrity, and self-discipline for all of us, thus forming a standard for which We could judge ourselves. He will long be remembered by each and everyone of us in the years to come. -5 i -.fl of' ii s l4l CAPTAIN JAMES H. Homss MAJOR CARL P. DENN EY 5 E51 Administration Staff B13 Chzef COLONEL LESLIE E. Although the Preps played only two games this year, they attended practice during the whole football season. Through these practices, the Preps were taught many of the fundamentals of football which will be invaluable to them during their high school football careers. These fundamentals paid dividends when the Preps, after losing to Crown Point earlier in the season, met Crown Point for the second time of the season and soundly defeated them. i441 Block That PW Varsity Coach Prep Coach AVERY F rosh-Soph Coach HABERKORN ESKRIDGE I45 I Most Valuable Player CAPPELL STANDING-CISCO B., Bourk, Harder, Cappell, Denney, Dodson KNEELING-Wills, Chamberlin, Friebel, Hudson, Quayle. Throughout the basketball season the cadets never lost their spirit or iight, as their record shows. The Yellowjackets will lose three of their starting five next season. The squad should, however, be able to have as equally a successful season next year as our team has experienced this year. VARSITY RECORD A TEAM O.M.S. .... 86 Bellflower .... O.M.S. .... Two school records were established by the varsity six. The varsity relay team fKirby, Birger- son, Sedlock, and Sucharetzaj set the record of 1.37 minutes in the 160 yard free-style relay. Also Gordon established the new record time of 2.35 minutes in the 200 yard free-style.
