ONANCOCK HIGH You must now realize that the time you have spent here has been, at best, a very short period in your lives. It is my sincere hope that they have been happy years and that you have experienced an educational and social attain¬ ment that will be of value to you the rest of your life. Those of us who spend our lives in the field of education, find our greatest satisfaction in the privilege we have of working with so many fine young people. I can say with a great deal of pride that I shall always remember this class as rating among the nicest that has graduated from Onancock High School. You take with you my best wishes for a prosperous and happy future. Earl G. Hoppes Principal

DEDICATION BILLIE LOU BARNES We, the Senior Class of 1975, dedicate this edition of the TRIDENT to Miss Billie Lou Barnes, our former sponsor and teacher. Although she no longer teaches at Onancock High School, this yearbook is representative of our gratitude for and appreciation of the constant interest and commitment that Miss Barnes devoted to our class while she was here. She is best remembered for three things: her efforts in behalf of the 1974 Junior-Senior Prom, her teaching of students rather than subjects, and her concern for the use of the taxpayer’s money. These are illustrations of Miss Barnes’s regard for PEO¬ PLE. Our sincerest thanks to Miss Barnes for her special efforts making our past three years at OHS quite an experience!

ADMINISTRATION May happiness and success smile upon the class of 1975 in all that you attempt to do. Richard Bull Assistant Principal This is the time in your lives that you feel that your educational careers are ending, but that is not true. You are just beginning. In spite of the gloomy situations surrounding the world, you must always remember that man can be destroyed, but can never be defeated. Please dedicate yourselves to superior leadership at all times. We shall miss you very much but we are expecting you to assume responsibilities wherever you are. The per¬ sons who get things accomplished in this world do not sit idly by; they do not complain that under different cir¬ cumstances and given better opportunities, they would ac¬ complish great things. Instead, they make the best possi¬ ble adjustments to situations in which they find themselves. Best wishes and warm regards to all of you for a successful life. James Bailey Assistant Principal
