To the Leader in his lofty tower, we consider it an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure, to have been guided in our future destiny by such a one who is so capable in his manner of direction. Such a manner constitutes latitude for freedom of expression, latitude for creative thinking and writing, and latitude for creative doing. To those who have shown cre¬ ativeness, the opportunity has, is, and shall be provided by our principal, Earl G. Hoppes. John H. Parsons Our assistant has been very dedicated to the job that he is fulfilling, thus, he is known to us, the senior class, as the “Travel Agent”. The Senior Class Mr. John H. During the past four years, we have come to love and respect three outstanding individuals who have been close to us — our homeroom teachers. These individuals worked patiently with us in all activities, shared our hopes, sorrows, and joys; and now, as we leave O.H.S., they will share our memories. As the years pass and faces fade with time, they will remain in our minds as three entirely different individuals who reached us as both students and friends. To you, — Mr. John Barnes, Mrs. Yvonne Richardson, and Miss Billie Lou Barnes, — we proudly dedicate this 1971 publication of the Onancock Trident. The Senior Class 1971 6
