CLASS PROPHECY June 1974 Dear Mrs. Pennewell and Mrs. Senn, It hardly seems possible that ten years have passed since the class of 1964 was together at O.H.S. I, being a house mother at Vassar College, am chaperoning a group of girls to Fort Lauderdale for spring vacation, when who should I run into at the Daytona Beach Raceway, but Arnold Obenshain. He has just won his fourth 500 and now is tied with that other speedster Gary Marsh. As I was on my way to dinner, I happened to meet another classmate Robin Milliner, who is a math professor at the University of Miami and is here on a vacation also. She said she had seen Jack Phillips recently, who is catcher for the Yankees. He is here for training. The famous Saturday Club, headed by Tommy Belote, has spread throughout the U. S. very rapidly. The members Hal Lassiter, Gary Marsh, Bill Shrieves, John Wimbrow, Eddie Belote, Bill Valentine, Eddie Lavelle, and Preston Mears have done a marvelous job in promoting the stand¬ ards to become a member. Danny Payne, once a basketball player for Onancock, has joined the Globetrotters. Jean Lavelle, who loved physics so well, is Pro fessor of Physics at William and Mary. Mary Paul Scott, Nancy Ayres, Nadya Crosley, and Connie Williams are living in New York City and are operating their own beauty salon. Some of the main cosmetics in their salon are being created by Tress Engler. Sonny Shrieves and Lanny Mason have just opened another used car lot. This one is located in Baltimore near Jack Lavelle’s Rambler Specialty Shop. I heard Margaret Ann Watkinson is helping Mrs. Taylor coach the Atlantic basketball team. I hope she likes them better now than before. Kim Miles is star quarterback for the Giants. If you watch T.V., you will see that same number 12. Karen Knopf, who is now co-owner of Floyd Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, is also Vice-President of the Corvett Industry. I got a letter the other day from Faith Richardson, who is the chief doctor and missionary to the Ubangie Tribe in Africa. Albert Barber has just completed his second edition of How to Spell , and Chris Bosworth has just started writing pamphlets on How to Do Good on College Boards. Rose Ann Niedlinger bought out Cliff Marsh and opened her own jewelry store in Onancock. Bobby Gene Moore has become a chief horticulturist for a flower firm in London, and Betty Elliot is also there as medical advisor to Queen Elizabeth. Rosalie Drewer has gained 180 pounds and now travels all over the world as the fat lady for the Barnum and Bailey Circus. George Parker is now racing Ferraries on the Grand Prix Circuit. He will be racing in Monte-Carlo next week. Rudy Smith and Donna Morgan are chief executives for General Electric in New Jersey. Barry Courtney and Jo Ann Edwards are co-owners of Crabs Unlimited Inc. inChesconnessex, Virginia. Bill Valentine, better known as Billy the Bomber, has just lost his license for the third time and is getting ready to serve his second sentence in Sing-Sing for finally succeeding in blowing up the Tasley Fair Grounds. Damon Evans has invented get tall pills and is now 7 ft., and Betty Jean Nottingham has invented Betty’s Reducing Pills and now weighs 110 pounds. Donna Harmon is working in California for Walt Disney drawing Donald Duck cartoons. Peggy Savage, Carol Ann Twyford, and Carolyn Sites are secretaries to the Ambassador to New Zealand. Sharon Reade and Glenda Custis are now head nurses on the Ben Casey Show. 30
