Best Namred Girl BestNatured Boys Joan Shirley Warren Lucia Larry Eloise Sharon SENIOR CLASS PLAY CLASS PROPHECY As we gaze into the future through our crystal ball Sharon and 1 see Sammy Belote a very successful mechanic working his way through college. Geroge Coard who never particularly cared for Virginia State Policemen is enrolling in police school in Richmond. Betty Custis, the girl who left our Senior class in the middle of the year to live in Parksley and returned before graduation, is a housewife with about 4 little girls who prove to be just as sweet and benign as their mother was and still is. Lucia Belote, the girl who always threatened to quit school and work in the shirt factory, has finally secured her ambition and is 2nd floor mcinager of the shirt factory. Joan Cherrix we see now as Mrs. Thomas John Savage the wife of the president of V. P. I. Nathan Davis looks as if he is doing very well as the prosperous owner of a string of Pure Oil gasoline stations. Nancy Evans always ever faithful as the.girl who waited on you in Forks Grill is now employed by the DuPont Company as secretary of Larry Brown who heads the chemical department there. Shirley Ennis has acquired a job as operator for the Bell Telephone Company for which she has longed. Franklin Gladding, after many years of struggling through Med school, is now chief surgeon at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Jackie Murray is still at his old job measuring corn and wheat fields. Jackie is seeking promotion, because he says he is tired of just loafing. The crystal ball becomes hazy as we faintly see Donnie Sparrow leading more young Boy Scouts to earnestly earn their Eagle Badge. The faded picture is getting clearer when we see Pat Davis out feeding the hogs and chickens down on the farm of her ever faithful husband. Tommy Fitchett. The biggest surprise of all is when we see Augustine Davis and Peggy Dize in front of the Naomi Makemie Presbyterian Church. What are they do¬ ing? Well, it is the wedding of the D’s. Augustine finally did it. Tommy Evans, as we see it, is employed by the famous criminal lawyer Buddy Evans, as Buddy’s private secretary. They both seem to be doing very well, each in his own field. Something is obstructing the view. What is it? Oh, it is only Warren Stotz. He is taking a picture of the “model housewife of the year” who is none other than Eloise Shrieves. Kenneth Martin and David White are still as close as ever, only this time they are working together as Sheriff Martin and Deputy White of Accomack County. Maybelle Spence has just completed a course on Religious Education and is employed as a D. R. E. at Market Street Methodist Church in Onancock. Barbara Williams is now busy looking after her 5 children. She and Ned Grinnalds were married shortly after graduation from high school. We believe we see a big black car in the background. No, it is only Johnny Williams getting ready for a big funeral. After successfully completing a course in undertaking, he is in business with his father. Jo Anne Young has faithfully lived up to her title as “the most likely to succeed” because she is now the well-known Professor of Psychology teaching at the University of Richmond, her old homestead. As for us, well, we just dwindle with the wind and shift with the sand. Sharon Fosque and Lou Hill LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Class of 1956 of Onancock High School, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, but realizing the time for our departure is now about to dawn upon us do make and declare this our last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills at any time heretofore made by us.
